Will “BS” Apologize At The Opry Tonight, Yes Or No?

B S (THAT IS BLAKE SHELTON)

WILL APPEAR ON THE GRAND OLE OPRY MARCH 1 & 2, 2013

.

Blake Shelton joined the Opry on October 23, 2010. Since that time, he has only made 4 Opry appearances.  Being on Friday March 14, 2011 (2 shows that night), Saturday March 15, 2011 (1 show) and Tuesday September 6, 2011 (1 show) He has made no Opry appearances since that September 6, 2011 date. A pretty poor record in my opinion, but also in my opinion, not too surprising.

WELL THINGS HAVE CHANGED, SHELTON IS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR ON THE OPRY TOMORROW, FRIDAY AND ALSO SATURDAY NIGHT. WE SHALL SEE IF HE WILL DELIVER A FORMAL APOLOGY FOR HIS WORDS THAT CAUSED A LARGE AND UNCALLED FOR ISSUE IN THE COUNTRY MUSIC INDUSTRY, AND WILL NOT BE SOON FORGOTTEN.

I have said in previous comments that he needs to go to the middle of the Opry stage, standing in the circle that he has spoken so RESPECTFUL about. Then he should publicly apologize to all members of the Opry, to all the legends in country music, and to the fans, many of which are older generation. We shall see what he does, and if by chance he does apologize, I will not be issuing any statement that he did the right thing, I will not commend him for delivering an apology, and I will have a difficult time believing what he might say. I have made it clear that he had the opportunity to go back and delete that part of the interview with GAC, BUT HE OPTED TO JUST LET IT GO BECAUSE THAT IS THE WAY HE FEELS.

Not sure of the times he will be on the Opry either night. The Opry comes on the air at 7PM CST time and no doubt he will be the host of whatever spot he is on and probably the 7PM slot.

  1. It’s done it’s over, let it go. Why does it have to drag on and on and on. The only reason there was even anything made out of it was because Ray Price wanted to have some attention drawn to him, I for one had no clue how the guy was. It aired back in December and then Ray brings it up in late Jan. because he is going to finally have a record after all these years, he was never a real will know but this a way to be sure to get his name in the lime light wasn’t it. A lot of people had it right, it was much to ado about nothing, but Ray wanted to make sure it was and he still tries to run with it, when he reposts the link and then “pretends” there was a hacker, the general public isn’t that blind just his followers who don’t want to see his eye and is poor poor Ray all over again. Just plain tried of it. Just play the music already.

    • Hi Sandy, I agree with you that people should get over things and get on with their lives. However it seems to me that this was not just about Ray Price but about all the Country legends and that Blake Shelton must have generalized when he insulted them. So getting over it is a matter that needs a general apology which has not been forthcoming. It is very easy to say that the victims should get over it, but the victims in this case have given their lives for Country music and do not deserve to be insulted. It seems that this is the general opinion of the whole world to day that the old order must be replaced by the new order. I must tell you that no matter how much you and I wish that this will blow over it is not going to until Blake apologizes for his uncalled for remarks. What worries me is that he does not seem to care and feels he does not need to apologize. It is very sad, yet in another 20 years or so Blake will be one of those old farts that he is talking about right now. So if you know Blake maybe you should mention to him that it will be no big deal if just apologizes and then we can all get over it like you suggested.

  2. Marty I have always been a fan of Blake, but after he insulted all the Country Legends, I am afraid I am not in his corner anymore. However for the sake of our Beloved Country, I hope that he does take the time to apologize and that he is very convincing, yet he is now an actor too, so he may put on a good show, which will convince all but how will we really know that he is sorry. So maybe you are right with your statement above that it is really too late to say I’m Sorry. I wish I could be there tonight, I miss the Opry, as last time I was in NASHVILLE the tickets were too expensive, had to give it a miss. Long live the Opry……….
