Steve joined bands in high school in Pittsburgh, PA, starting with “The Third Edition.” In college at Scottsbluff, NE, where he met Randy Meisner who was working with Rick Nelson, and they traveled to Hollywood. Randy joined Linda Rondstadt band which became “The Eagles“. Stephen took up bass guitar and vocals for “Rick Nelson” in the “Stone Canyon Band” at age 20. Stephen A. Love musical achievements have included the industry’s highest awards including RIAA certification, gold and platinum records for Garden Party with Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon Band. The best-selling record sold more than 8 million copies worldwide and ranked number one on Billboard Adult contemporary and number six on the industries Billboard chart. Stephen also performed at the biggest concert of the year in 1977 with the New Riders of the Purple Sage, the Grateful Dead, and the Marshall Tucker Band in Englishtown, New Jersey. More than 125,000 people were in attendance. High profile concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Hyde Park, London, Madison Square Garden in New York, and Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia, were enjoyed by many fans. Stephen is currently working on a new CD which is still in the production stage. According to James Allen of JAMES ALLEN PROMOTIONS his Promotions team, the new cd is still being kept hush-hush and no one knows what tracks Stephen is including on the new CD. Some are speculating that he may be recording a new version of the hit he had with Ricky Nelson, “I Need You” but no one on Stephen’s promotion team can or wants to confirm this.
Well whatever the future hold for this Superstar we are just really happy that he has found the time to record some new material for his fans, it may or may not be “I Need You” but one thing is for sure “Stephen A Love” will be back at #1 in 2012
