A Source of Hope The American Braille Flag  – WET TV

A Source of Hope: In 2005 a unique American Flag was created enabling millions of blind Americans to fully experience, not only her stars and stripes, but her vibrant colors as well! The challenge of producing and distributing one million Braille American Flags to our nation’s blind would require an Army. We turned to the humble defenders of our country; men and women who have taken oath of preserving our nation’s flag for all Americans. These homeless and disabled veterans will enter immediate employment and eligibility for programs like HUD-VASH. This project will lead to permanent employment in such areas as restoring critically needed braille writers to increase literacy for our nation’s blind.
