Service started verses service stopped: Did you ever notice how much easier it is to get a service started than to get it stopped?

Whether it is cable, various Internet services including e-mail servers, facebook, and on line banking, the request for stopping the service sometimes takes days and could take weeks.

Everyone is eager to get your service turned on but not so willing to turn it off.  This is the exact opposite of what I have experienced my whole life.  If you were late paying your electric bill or telephone bill, it was just a matter of days and your service was gone.  You could not get it back until you paid your bill in full plus penalties.

Now a days it takes forever to get your cell phone turned off and in many cases they won’t turn it off until the time on your contract has expired.  This all seems upside down to me.  You don’t have to agree with me but you do have to live with it.
