We managed to keep it a secret FOR 2 MONTHS that Frans Maritz was the one that leaked the Likileakes (or Bradford files) Some are thinking now that the story is over and there won’t be any more Likileakes. This is not true and we were just assured by Keith himself that he will continue to entertain us with his stories for as long as you want to read them or hear them on the radio. One kind of music is still the same: Every genre of music evolves and changes with what seems like every generation. Music that was recorded in the 70’s that was marketed as Rock for example is today’s Country Music. The Pop music of the 50’s does not sound like the pop recordings in 2013. Even Bluegrass music recorded in the 40’s does not sound like what some call NEW GRASS or today’s modern Bluegrass music. All genres of music have evolved or progressed into its current sound. All except one and that is BIG BAND MUSIC. Those sounds have remained the same for 75 years or more. When you attend a ball room dance and are serenaded by a big band playing old songs, new songs, or those in between, the sound remains the same. It is the sound of BIG BAND MUSIC and somehow it has maintained its sound for decades. No one goes around and says it is time for BIG BAND MUSIC to change. The fans of that kind of music are quite content for it to stay as it has for generations to come. I for one hopes it never changes and that my grand children’s grandchildren will be able to listen to the big band classics just like they were recorded.

Eine bestimmte Art von Musik hat sich nicht verändert:

Jede Art von Musik wird von Generation zu Generation weiter entwickelt und verändert: Was zum Beispiel in den 70er Jahren als Rock-Musik bezeichnet wurde, ist heute Country-Musik. Die Pop-Musik der 50er Jahre hört sich nicht so an wie die Pop-Musik von 2013. Selbst Bluegrass aus den 40er Jahren ist nicht das, was man heute New Grass- oder moderne Bluegrass-Musik nennt. So hat sich jede Musikrichtung weiter entwickelt und umgewandelt in den derzeitigen Sound.

Das gilt für alle Arten von Musik – bis auf eine: die Big Band-Musik. Die hört sich auch nach 75 Jahren immer noch gleich an. Wenn man zu einer Tanzveranstaltung geht, in der eine Big Band auftritt und diese dann alte Songs, neue Songs und die dazwischen spielt, hört sich das immer noch so an wie früher. Es ist diese Art der Big Band-Musik, die seit Jahrzehnten unverändert ist. Da gibt es niemanden, der verlangt, diese Art der Orchester-Musik müsse anders klingen. Ich für meinen Teil hoffe, dass sich dieser Sound nie ändert und dass meine Enkel- und Urenkel diese Big Band-Klassiker in ihrer ursprünglichen Klangqualität ebenfalls noch genießen können.
