Joey+Rory 2nd week At #1 on the Country Music chart
Joey+Rory Again #1 on the Country Music chart
Joey+Rory garnered the No. 1 position on the Country Music chart again this week with their all-new recording, Hymns That Are Important to Us, marking the recording’s third weekly reign in the top position, according to Nielsen Soundscan. This was Joey’s last album before she passed away from cancer.
Since its release on February 12th, the 13-song recording, produced by Rory and Joe West (except “When I’m Gone,” which was produced by Gary Paczosa), has also topped the Contemporary Christian Album chart for the past five weeks.
In addition, for the fifth week in a row, the Hymns That Are Important to Us video landed in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Music Video chart and also on the Christian Music Video chart. The audio recording has remained in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 chart for the past five weeks, landing at No. 4 this week. As of street week the new release became the first recording in nearly a decade to top both the Top Christian Albums and Top Country Albums charts.
For the past couple of years, Rory has poetically chronicled the couple’s journey through highs and lows–from the birth of their new daughter, Indiana, to Joey’s health challenges. Countless people from around the world have followed their lives through that blog at www.thislifeilive.com, where Rory has taken readers from the spotlight of the stage to the sunlight across Joey’s vegetable garden, revealing their greatest joys and biggest disappointments.
