Jim Ed Brown Celebrated 50 Years Of Making Memories
JIM ED BROWN CELEBRATES 50 YEARS ON THE GRAND OLE OPRY-AUGUST 10, 2013 “MAKING NEW MEMORIES”
Jim Ed Brown, Grand Ole Opry Legend and now a member of the special grouping of those artists who have enjoyed 50 years with their membership.
Jim Ed experienced a roller coaster of emotions this past Saturday night filled with laughter, tears, great stories, old and new music, all packaged in a night of tribute for Jim Ed as he celebrated his 50th Golden Anniversary of being a member of a very small and special group of artists along with family, friends, fellow artists, and fans.
His emotions ran the gamut of joy and sadness, joy for the opportunity to still being able to enjoy his great and continuous career, and sadness of not having all of his artists friends in attendance.
Many have passed away, many could not be there due to previous commitments, but all were there in mind and heart for this great honor paid to Jim Ed.
He enjoyed being together again with his sisters Maxine and Bonnie in attendance for this special moment.
Jim Ed sang his new chart topping song “In Style Again,” to a rousing ovation from the audience at the Grand Ole Opry House.
He said “With all of the many awards and accolades in my career, this by far is the most important one of all, and I love you all for sharing it with me and being a part of my life in music, and my family here at the Grand Ole Opry.”
The audience paid tribute to Jim Ed with a long-standing ovation, which was a moment that was special to Jim Ed and he was emotional for the reception in his honor.
At the earlier reception given to him by the Grand Ole Opry management, Colin Reed, Steve Buchanan, and Peter Fisher were in attendance and both Steve and Pete spoke highly of Jim Ed’s career and his love of the Grand Ole Opry.
Pete Fisher presented Jim Ed with a gold railroad watch, that was made in the late 1800. Jim Ed was also presented with a certificate of his longtime membership, which will no doubt have special place in his heart and in his home.
After his appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, he was the host of the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree, where he was presented with a special cake commemorating his 50th Anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and all of his family, friends, fans, and guests enjoyed the great honor that had been bestowed upon his career.
A career embellished with awards, honors, tributes, accolades and still going strong, leaving no stones unturned in a career filled with as much success as any artist in the country music industry, and still making memories for the future. Congratulations to Jim Ed Brown on his special occasion.
