Does AOL Leave It’s Customers To Defend Themselves?
I am a faithful AOL customer and proud to be one. However it seems that AOL does not do anything to protect me against spamming. For the past 6 months I have been getting emails similar to the two below at least twice a day I disabled the links and made one red and the other blue:
Dear E-mail user
Your two incoming mails were placed on pending status due to the recent upgrade to our database and also you have exceeded the storage limit of 1 GB which as defined by the administrator are running at 99.8 gigabyte. You can not send or receive new messages until you re-validate your mailbox.iTo renew the mailbox kindly Click Here
Regards,
Aol Team
I cannot understand how AOL has never mentioned the problem above to any of its customers or even warned them against this spamming. I get at least two of these mails daily and AOL is silent on the issue. They must be aware of this war on our emails security as if we answer the above email and enter our details we will most certainly have all our information stolen from our email accounts. It is serious and AOL is ignoring the problem and saying absolutely nothing about it.
How many AOL customers have fallen for this trick and supplied their user name and password details to the people behind the false emails. I don’t even want to begin to know what would happen if I supplied my details to the above spammer, because their emails looked so authentic. The only way of telling that is not from AOL is by the senders email account which is not from America, or even an AOL.COM email account.
Will AOL help with this or will they leave us to be eaten alive by the wolves who prey on our little email accounts daily?
