MUSIC IS THE SOUNDTRACK OF LIFE AND IN GOD WE TRUST.

IN THE GOOD OLE’ SUMMERTIME,  IT’S TIME FOR LOADS OF FUN!

First I’d like to say that this bi-monthly newsletter will be a quarterly one from now on. It takes me more time to do than I have, and each bi-monthly one was getting more difficult to do, especially since I’m always having problems with my computer.

doctor01It’s been a busy two months with lots going on, some of it fun… some of it not so much. Especially the past two weeks when Bill & I were each in the hospital within 2 days of the other.  On Wednesday, June 19th, I was hospitalized for cancer surgery.  Caught very early, I chose to have a lumpectomy.  It was almost painless; however the after-effects of surgery is still making me uncomfortable. Then 2 days after my surgery I insisted Bill go to the doctor as he had spots all over his body and his nose wouldn’t stop bleeding.  When the blood work came to the doctor later that day, he called Bill and said he had to go to the emergency room right away.  His platelets were 2…and the norm is 150-300. They kept him there for 2 nights and his platelets had gone up to 63.  He  took Prednisone and another med, then went to see the doctor early Monday morning.  Another blood test revealed  they’d gone up to 132, so she lowered his dosage of Prednisone.  He sees her again next week.  I was so happy to get him home.  She told me it was fortunate I’d made him get help when I did. His case was very serious.  When he’s finished with the meds protocol, and the platelets go back down, she has to come up with Plan B.   I saw my surgeon and a radiologist this past Thursday and I’ll be starting my radiation on July 1st for 32 days (5 days a week).  Thanks for all the prayers and cards.  I have no doubt that these prayers were what made my recovery time (as well as Bill’s) so quick and relatively pain free. Thanks also for the encouragement and good wishes so many of you gave, especially Chris Sembera (spotlighted last issue), Dr. Pam  Flink  (both giving lots of help and advice), Honolulu Dave (Leonard) who sent links for articles and books about cancer and Sharon & James Brock who brought homemade goodies and fresh veggies from their garden.  I’m truly grateful for each and every one of you!!

 .

THANKS SOOO VERY MUCH!! JUDY
