Rest & Reward
Author Gien Karssen – Passage for the day Revelations 14:6-13
The BIBLE leaves no doubt that there is life after death. Humanity is created for eternity. The earthly life is but an overture, a prelude of the reality to come. Blessed- happy, to be envied-are the dear “who die in the Lord.” They are people who during their earthly life believed in Jesus Christ their Savior and Lord. When they exchange the temperal for the eternal, their work is done forever. They finally have rest. All the troubles and tensions of their earthly existence are behind them. They have arrived at their eternal destination. They are HOME!
(Revelation 14:11)
What a contrast !
The dead who die in the Lord not only enjoy eternally the absence of unrest, pain and sorrow, but they also are rewarded: “Their deeds will follow them.!
Human beings are free to live their lives according to their own choices. But they have to keep in mind that there will be a future settling of accounts. All will-justly-be rewarded according to their deeds. The measuring staff will be administered according to their attitude toward the Lord Jesus Christ.
True rest awaits only those who during their life on earth took God seriously. Without him there is no real rest, in the present or in the future.
Therefore, please read the bible today….. as none of us know when our time on earth will be over. Tomorrow may be too late to accept salvation through Jesus Christ.
