We also lost Cal Smith and Marvin Rainwater in 2013 and I did not have them in my earlier listing of those legends who passed away in 2013.  Sorry.

 More inclement weather today, so please be cautious and remember our pets who love us so much.  Keep them safe and warm.  I know you know all these conditions for frigid weather, but if you must go out, bundle up till you arrive at where you have to go, and bundle up when you leave.  I feel like an old mother hen, but I do worry about all of you.

Please keep in your prayers and prayer lines, Whitey Shafer, one of the greatest songwriters in the history of country music or any music.  Whitey has been admitted to a Nashville Hospital last night for treatment of a respiratory conditions.  He is in need of our prayers at this time so that he will recover and have a speedy recovery.  Without Whitey Shafer in country music, there would be so many standard songs that might never have been written and recorded.
Our dear friend Florine Magness wrote to ask for our prayers.
Keep me in your prayers as well. After a Scope on the 20th, I will have an arteriogram to fix a little piece of my heart. Love you and hope you are doing well. You are still in our prayers – Florine Magness 
P.S. I had a 2nd cousin (34 yrs old) that was murdered last week in McMinnville. He had just sold his little tire shop and had over $10K on him. I can’t put this out, because of the police information, but do pray that we find the 2 guys that killed him over this. Thanks.
FRIEND MARTY…..WEDNESDAY MORNING,MY  WIFE,JO,WILL  UNDERGO  OPEN  HEART  SURGERY TO  CORRECT  A  PROLAPSED  VALVE  IN  HER  HEART.  THE   OPERATION  WILL  BE  PERFORMED  HERE  IN  MESA,  ARIZONA AT  BANNER  HEART  HOSPITAL .  NEEDLESS  TO  SAY,  THIS IS  A  MAJOR SURGERY  AND  THE  PRAYERS  OF  OUR  FRIENDS  AND MY FANS  WILL  BE  GREATLY   APPRECIATED.   THANKS,MARTY  – JOHNNY WESTERN
 

JUST BEING THERE

Sometimes when a heart’s broken in two by a harsh word spoken carelessly,

Or the sting of rejection has wounded quite deep, just being there can set a troubled soul free.

When teardrops tumble as sorrows descend and the day seems so dark and drear,

A warm cup of chamomile tea soothes and calms, as well as a friend whose loving touch is near.

When we lose our way like a drifting ship at sea and the tides of life are shifting wrong,

Just being there can shed a beam – Simply shining and guiding along.

If sickness calls and shadows fall, just being there can shed a ray of hope.

A listening ear, sincere prayers from the heart muster the courage to persevere and cope.

Jesus, our Master, taught compassion and mercy, so pause to mend that broken wing,

For, one never knows, you may someday need Someone just being there with love to bring,.
