WHISNews21 Prayer Line and thoughts for yesterday, today and tomorrow by Marty Martel
Please forgive me when I miss someone for our prayer line. I become so involved in my work that sometimes I forget to add someone who needs our prayer lines. I will try and be more attentive. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EACH OF YOU.
2013 was not a good year for the many music industry losses that we were saddened by their deaths. I am going to list those that were in country music, and have left us with so much sadness at this time. Mary Campbell, the widow of Archie Campbell, has passed away this past Friday evening. She was 94 years old.
MAY HER SOUL REST IN THE LOVING AND PEACEFUL ARMS OF OUR BLESSED SAVIOR.
Please keep in your prayers this morning, Gary Scott, as he undergoes surgery. Gary is the husband of Jeanette Scott one of our Board of Directors for R.O.P.E. (Reunion of Professional Entertainers). Thank you.
If I could ask, would you please put my wife Edna Earle Faust on the prayer list? She has been suffering since the year 2000
THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED THROUGH THIS EARTHLY KINGDOM IN 2013
COWBOY JACK CLEMENT
BUD ADAMS (TENNESSEE TITANS)
JOHN SIBERT (GREAT STEEL GUITARIST-LONG TIME MEMBER OF CARL SMITHS TUNESMITHS)
JIM FOGLESONG JR. (MASTER EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) (HELPED LAUNCH GARTH BROOKS)
LORENE MANN (FOUNDING MEMBER OF NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS ASSOC.)
BARRY MCCLOUD (MY DEAR FRIEND WHO WAS AN AWESOME COUNTRY MUSIC JOURNALIST)
Bobby “BLUE” BLAND
PATTI PAGE (TENNESSEE WALTZ)
I might have missed others, but not intentionally. We have lost great names in our music industry. Great artists, great producers, musicians, media and industry giants.
MAY THEIR SOULS REST IN THE PEACEFUL ARMS OF OUR BLESSED SAVIOR. JUST LOOKING OVER THE NAMES, I KNOW THERE MUST BE SOME BEAUTIFUL MUSIC BEING MADE IN THEIR HEAVENLY HOME.
A Prayer of Entreaty by Jane Austen
Compassionate Lord, give me a thankful sense of the Blessings in which I live,
Of the many comforts of my lot; that I may not deserve
To lose them by Discontent or Indifference.
Be gracious to my Necessities, and guard me, and all I love,
From Evil this day. May the sick and afflicted, be now, and ever thy care;
And heartily do I pray for the safety of all that travel by Land or by Sea,
For the comfort & protection of the Orphan and Widow
And that thy pity may be shewn upon all Captives and Prisoners.
Above all other blessings Oh! God, for myself, and my fellow-creatures,
I implore Thee to quicken our sense of thy Mercy in the redemption of the World,
Of the Value of that Holy Religion in which we have been brought up,
That we may not, by our own neglect, throw away the salvation thou hast given us,
Nor be Christians only in name. Hear me Almighty God, for His sake
Who has redeemed me, and taught me thus to pray.
If you have anyone you would like to send a prayer out to please mail them to
