Marty Martel Prayer Line For Saturday June 22
If you have a prayer or a thought that you want to mention here or send to someone who you believe is deserving please use my column to reach special people who would go out of their way to say a special prayer on your behalf for that someone you care about – Marty Martel
I want to pass this info on to each of you that read my Thought for the Day and Prayer Line. This past Wed. early AM I was admitted to the ER here in my home city with what turned out to be a blood infection that was in my system for how long I do not know. I spent three days in the hospital and the Drs. and nurses drew enough blood to start my own blood bank.
I know many of you wondered where I was and what had happened to my Thought and Prayer Line. I can only tell you for those that missed reading it, that I missed sending it out each day-missed doing it badly.
I am home and doing great and I just want you to know those of you who knew I do appreciate your thoughts and prayers and today is my first day to do anything, so I am making sure everyone knows I have not forsaken them. It is good to share my Thought with you and as you can see there are people who need our prayers and prayer lines, and those who have seen what the power of prayer can do.
We also lost two special people in country music, my dear, dear friend Keith Adkinson who is married to Jett Williams and Slim Whitman who is so special in the world of country music. Keith was special to so many of us in the country music industry and I will be sending out his obituary and you will see how loved he really was.
I have some health issues and any prayers that you can spare would be most appreciated, but the problem this week has been taken care of and I thank our Blessed Lord for his intervention in finding the infection and guiding the medical people to give me the correct antibiotic. Love all of you and so now you know why I was missing 3 days of sending out what I enjoy sending so much – Marty Martel
WHISNews21 Prayer Line and thoughts for Saturday June 22, By Marty Martel;
Marty, I have a friend who is requesting prayer for her 17-year old grandson, Zachary Patterson, who is scheduled for lung surgery, Wednesday, June 19, at 7:00 a.m., to repair a lung that has collapsed and has a hole in it. The doctors say this procedure is as serious as a lung transplant. I am asking the prayer warriors to pray that the Lord gives wisdom to the surgical team and guides their hands by His own skillful hands; that God gives His peace to Zach’s family; that the surgery will be successful; and that Zach makes a complete recovery. There is still power in the blood of Jesus, and we believe Zach is healed by His stripes. The Great Physician is still in charge!– Jan Caston
MARTY: PLEASE ADD TERRY TO YOUR PRAYER LINE. HE IS HAVING A BIOPSY DONE FRIDAY FOR SPOTS ON HIS LIVER – JEAN
By Dan Scanlan: Known as “America’s Favorite Folksinger,” Slim Whitman’s songs were marked with his soaring yodel. Mr. Whitman, who has lived in Middleburg for years, is dead at 90. He passed away at 1 a.m. Wednesday at Orange Park Medical Center, family friend Sherry Raymer said.
Many remember Mr. Whitman’s yodeling in his 1952 hit “Indian Love Call” as the weapon that killed invading aliens in the 1996 movie “Mars Attacks.” I’m the one who killed the blasted Martians.

Hi Y’all
Just got this note from my old buddy and dear friend, Drew Reid. Drew is a true troubadour, traveling the U.S.A.in his little pick-up truck with his guitar and his songs. He can entertain any audience who listens. Mickey Newbury loved him.

Hi Marty: Vanessa was operated on on Tuesday and they removed 2 large tumors on the right side of her brain. She still has 7 small ones on the left side of her brain plus they have now found a spot on her liver which they will take a look at. All in all she is in good spirits. Bonnie spoke to her on the phone yesterday. She is 37 and has been through a lot. Please thank everyone for their prayers for Vanessa. She still has a long way to go – Rick
