FUN FACTS

Chevy introduced the prototype of its iconic sports car the Corvette, at the Motorama Auto Show in 1953. The two-seater, named after an ultra-fast naval warship, had a price tag of $3,500. The base price of the least expensive 2013 Corvette? 49,600!
NBC’s Today Show kicked off as a two-hour weekday series in 1952, and enjoyed such incredible success, it eventuall epanded to a four-hour format. Since then, guest hosts have included Jay Leno, Jordin Sparks and even the lovable chimpanzee J. Fred Muggs.
