Hi to all who read our little comments .. Nothing to do with music this week

If you have watched the News on TV  or read about in a  News Paper and  heard about the devastating Earthquake in and around Kaikoura all the way up the coast and across to the North Island of NZ to Wellington, buildings that were thought to be Earth Quake proof are now having to be demolished.

The scenic road up the Kaikoura coast is in a terrible state. My wife and I used to love driving this part of our main North South road. It will now be out of service for many months. Two people died in during the quake, one from shock and had a heart attack and the other in a building that came down.

All in all it was a very lucky escape for many. If the quake had happened during daylight hours the roads would have been very busy with, trucks, service vehicle’s, everyday travellers and many many tourist cars and camper vans, some would have been covered in hundreds of tons of rubble coming down from the mountains.

The death toll could have been so much higher. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to the people affected. The Quake measured 7.8 on the Richter scale. Now a word of advice, In an Emergency do you know what the two most important items to have in your emergency kit are, Water and lots of it and more  precious  than Diamonds, ( Toilet Paper ) yes Toilet Paper …

May all your days be sunny ones .. Wyn
