My 86 yr old mom fell last night and broke her femoral bone and cut her hand. She was transported via ambulance last night to WMC. After numerous xrays, 5 stitches in her hand, blood draws,etc. she was admitted to the hospital. The drs have told us this a.m. that it is a 50/50 chance of her surviving surgery considering all of her medical history. She has a horrible UTI that has already caused so much weakness.The orthopedic told us that her surgery could be as early as tomorrow or late as next week before they could operate. They must get her coumadin levels to 1.4 (they are 2.3ish now). Please add her to any prayer groups you can….she is a Christian lady who believes that prayers work!

Praying for:
1) pain meds to continue to control her pain level
2) good nursing staff
3) orthopedic’s skillful hands (Dr. Scott Arthur)
4) no complications from surgery

Thanks, Prayer Warriors, for always continuing to keep our family in your prayers/prayer chains.

* On a brighter note, my daughter & family got moved yesterday and their home CLOSED yesterday.
Our family was also chosen to be on Family Feud TV show. We will be taping in July in Atlanta……watch out Steve Harvey….he’s never had a family like mine!

Emy wrote: “Asking for prayers this am for my sweet mom! IF all of her blood work is good ( Coumadin levels are good) she will have surgery at 10:00 am TODAY for her broken femoral bone. It is a very high risk surgery- we were told 50/50 chance—we know that GOD is in control here–we are praying for complete healing. Thanks so much for adding my mom to any prayer chains you might have!”

Howdy Marty…..Hope all’s well with you, my friend.  I’d sure appreciate it if your prayer warriors would ‘say one for me’.  I’m having knee replacement surgery on Monday, and even tho’ I have complete faith and confidence in the surgeon, the touch of the Master’s hand in this ordeal will insure complete success and a quick recovery. – Thanks, Tom

To Be Free of Mental Distress

Lord Jesus, I find myself sometimes filled with depression and negativity

Over what I see as my failures in life; shame, guilt and anxiety beset me,

And I grow sorrowful that I am not more, that I have wasted opportunities

In my life. I sometimes feel worthless and helpless, with unwelcome humility forced upon me.  Help me, sweet Jesus, to turn my eyes upon you.

Give me the hope I need, and help me face life with the courage of faith in you. You told your disciples to be anxious for nothing. I give to you my anxiety,

Lord Christ, and lay my troubles upon your mighty back; and I pick up

Your burden, for you have promised that it is light, and that you are gentle

and kind. Let me work for your glory and not my own, putting an end to the pain Of my vanity, that I may serve you in joy and peace all my days.

Amen

And now let me go forth praising you, O Lord, with all my heart,

Telling of all your wonders, with my words and in my actions. I will be glad and rejoice in you this day. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
