United States Record For a Concert Is Broken By Country Legend George Strait

This weekend, country music star George Strait performed at the largest concert ever held in the United States. Strait is no stranger to setting records, as he has the most No.1 singles of any artist. Moreover, he has had a top 10 hit every year for 30 years and the most No.1 albums, gold albums, and platinum albums in country music history. Billboard reported that the Grateful Dead held the previous attendance record at Raceway Park in New Jersey, in 1977, with 107,019. Strait broke that record on Saturday, singing to a crowd of 110,905 at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. At the same time, other major artists are reportedly canceling concerts and tours or playing smaller venues due to low attendance.
