\nMerry Christmas all you Christians, Jews, Muslims, atheists, rich, poor,
\nand let’s not leave out the fringe weirdos.
\nMerry Christmas I say,
\nto all humans, dogs, cats, and miscellaneous living items.<\/p>\n

Christmas has been my favorite holiday my whole life,
\nand I want to share it with you.
\nYou don’t have to buy me anything.<\/p>\n

Join me in toasting old Saint Nicholas,
\nif he will fit in our toaster. (Haha. I get jolly at Christmas.)<\/p>\n

Cry with me at the ending of “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
\nLet’s boo and hiss together at Old Mr. Potter.
\nWe’ll get sentimental listening to the Christmas carols at Walmart.
\nWhat time is Charlie Brown on?<\/p>\n

Let’s all pray for snow even if we’re in Florida.<\/p>\n

Enjoy new times with old friends.
\nIf we don’t have any friends, let’s make some.
\nFind somebody who looks down in the dumps,
\ngive them a big smile, and toss them a “Merry Christmas”.
\nIf they just look at you funny and walk away, so what?
\nThere are other people waiting to be annoyed with our Christmas glee.<\/p>\n

Think about your home town, and try to recall the good times.
\nI think about Buffalo this time of year.
\nNot necessarily the real Buffalo, but the one that only I remember.
\nThat’s where I got all my Christmas spirit to begin with,
\nshopping downtown… a lost art, and trimming the scotch pine
\nwith people we loved more than we knew at the time.<\/p>\n

I laugh and cry a lot as Christmas approaches.
\nI even cry at commercials.
\nI laugh easily at funny remarks, especially mine.
\nIt’s embarrassing but I don’t much care.
\nTen minutes after the joke has slipped into the past
\nI think about it and start laughing again.
\nEverybody tries not to notice,
\nand the more I try to stifle it, the more I laugh.
\nTears come out of my eyes.
\nChristmas makes me weak.<\/p>\n

So, whatever your religion or non-religion is, Merry Dang Christmas!
\nYou don’t have to go to church if you don’t want to.
\nI probably won’t, but I might watch Midnight Mass on television,
\nand I’m not even Catholic.
\nIt’s all part of the pageantry that is my holiday,
\nand I plan to eat too much, mellow out, and enjoy the feeling.<\/p>\n

Call me on your holiday and I’ll join you,
\nbut listen…
\nWhat I’m saying to you right now is this:
\n“Merry Christmas to all good people.”<\/p>\n
