\"soldiers-coming-home\"Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia, attending a\u00a0conference. While I was\u00a0in the airport returning home, I heard several\u00a0people behind me\u00a0beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned\u00a0around and\u00a0witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever\u00a0seen.<\/p>\n

\"Welcome_Home_A_Hero_DFW-Facebook-photo\"Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their\u00a0camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost\u00a0everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and\u00a0cheering.<\/p>\n

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being\u00a0applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I’m not alone. I’m not the only\u00a0red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops\u00a0and their families.<\/p>\n

Of course, I immediately stopped and began\u00a0clapping for these young\u00a0unsung heroes who are putting their lives on\u00a0the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without\u00a0fear or reprisal.<\/p>\n

\"tumblr_n7tksxyVeb1te6kgco1_400\"Just when I thought I could not be more proud of\u00a0my country or of our\u00a0service men and women, a young girl, not more than\u00a06 or 7 years old, ran\u00a0up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down\u00a0and said ‘hi.’<\/p>\n

The little girl then asked him if he would give\u00a0something to her daddy for her.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"il_340x270.572283872_slv8\"The young soldier, who didn’t look\u00a0any older than maybe 22 himself, said he\u00a0would try and what did she\u00a0want to give to her Daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck\u00a0of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could\u00a0muster and then\u00a0kissed him on the cheek.<\/p>\n

The mother of the little girl, who said\u00a0her daughter’s name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband\u00a0was a Marine\u00a0 and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was\u00a0explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young\u00a0soldier began to tear up.<\/p>\n

When this temporarily single mom was done\u00a0explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief\u00a0second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking\u00a0walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and\u00a0forth on it.<\/p>\n

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier\u00a0walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, ‘I spoke to\u00a0your daddy and he told me to give this to you.’ He then hugged this little\u00a0girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by\u00a0saying ‘your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than\u00a0anything and he is coming home very soon.’<\/p>\n

The mom at this point\u00a0was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his\u00a0feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet
\naway from this entire event.<\/p>\n

As the soldiers began to leave,\u00a0heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood\u00a0there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes,\u00a0including my own. That young soldier, in one last act of selflessness,\u00a0turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his\u00a0cheek.<\/p>\n

\"doj-salem-or\"We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their\u00a0families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the\u00a0day, it’s good to be an American.<\/p>\n

Red Fridays<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very soon, you\u00a0will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason?\u00a0Americans who support our troops used to be called the ‘silent majority’.\u00a0We are no longer silent, and are voicing our\u00a0love for God, country and\u00a0home in record breaking numbers.<\/p>\n

\"RedFriday002\"We are not organized, boisterous\u00a0or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our\u00a0message or our opinions. Many American, like you, me and all our friends,\u00a0simply want to recognize that the vast majority of Americans support our\u00a0troops.<\/p>\n

\"wear_red_day_2014\"Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops\u00a0with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every\u00a0Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that\u00a0Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear\u00a0something red.<\/p>\n

By word of mouth, press, TV, let’s make the United\u00a0States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game\u00a0in the bleachers.<\/p>\n

\"RedIf every one of us who loves this country will\u00a0share this with acquaintances, friends, co-workers, and family.<\/p>\n

It will\u00a0not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops\u00a0know the once ‘silent’ majority is on their side more than ever; certainly\u00a0more than the media lets on.<\/p>\n

The first thing a soldier says when\u00a0asked ‘What can we do to make things better for you?’ is…<\/p>\n

We need your\u00a0support and your prayers<\/strong><\/p>\n
