No Matter How many Statues or High Buildings Nashville Puts Up It Cannot Compete With New York City<\/b><\/p>\n

The Music City Ghost [File #40] 2015:<\/strong> I found this conversation I had with two different tourists to be quite interesting and I thought I would share it with you. \u00a0I spoke with a married couple from Europe who are NOT Country Music fans. \u00a0I asked them what were their 5 most desired things to see and or attend while visiting the United States. \u00a0Without hesitation they answered: \u00a0See the Statue of Liberty, Take pictures from the top of the Empire State Building, Go to a Broadway Play in Manhattan, Visit the World Trade Center and Museum, and take a walk in Central Park. \u00a0Please notice all of these destinations are in New York. \u00a0I then asked a married couple from Europe who ARE Country Music Fans what their 5 most desired things to see and or attend while visiting the United States. \u00a0Once again without hesitation they answered: Attend a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, Have a drink at Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Visit Graceland, and go to Dollywood. \u00a0Please notice all of these destinations are in Tennessee. \u00a0Now you might wonder what can be learned from this information? \u00a0My take on things here is that since there are far more people attracted to the sights and sounds of New York than Tennessee, than there must be more non Country Music fans than there are Country Music fans. \u00a0So with that being said is it any wonder Nashville is turning it’s back on Country Music? \u00a0Nashville wants those tourist dollars and one of the ways they are trying to get that money is to switch our beloved Country Music to a homogenized POP\/ROCK genre of music that appeals to the masses. \u00a0I wonder what kind of a statue will someday be erected in the middle of the Cumberland River?<\/p>\n
