I’m “Charlie” Garrett I believe in one God, <\/strong><\/h2>\n

the Creator,\u00a0in three Persons the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What I believe, where I attend, and other issues about my faith….that man is a fallen race because of\u00a0the freewill sins of Adam, but a correction of this came through\u00a0salvation by grace – through repentance and faith\u00a0in the atoning blood and power of Christ’s resurrection.\u00a0 I believe in Christ Jesus’ birth through a virgin, that he died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, ascended into Heaven, and\u00a0is coming again for his church – soon!\u00a0\u00a0I believe in a literal interpretation of\u00a0the Holy Bible, and that both the Old and New Testaments, are God’s inspired Word without error in the original manuscripts.
\nI attend a Baptist church, but I believe Christ’s church comprises faithful believers from many denominations.\u00a0 I am not big on finger-pointing, unless obvious heresy exists – e.g., Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc.\u00a0 None of us have all the answers and Christ alone knows the heart of man.
\nIn\u00a0addition to this\u00a0statement of faith, I’d like to say that there is nothing more fulfilling in my life than my relationship with Christ Jesus.\u00a0 I spent\u00a0about 36 years going in every wrong direction.\u00a0 I failed to honor my parents as commanded; my faithful, trusting, and loving wife received grief and neglect as I put others and work ahead of her; I put myself above two wonderful God-given children.\u00a0 Pick a commandment\u00a0– I’ve broken it.\u00a0 As I look back, I can see that any miseries I’ve experienced\u00a0have been of my own making.\u00a0 And then, by the grace of God alone, I was called out of darkness into His marvelous light.\u00a0 Why he chose a wretch such as me to show his mercy I will never know.\u00a0 But – because he did – I feel it my duty to honor\u00a0Him with my every breath (which I continuously fail to do.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I have come to fully appreciate the humbling words of the hymn Amazing Grace.<\/p>\n

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
\nThat saved a wretch like me!
\nI once was lost, but now am found;
\nWas blind, but now I see.<\/p>\n

\u2019Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
\nAnd grace my fears relieved;
\nHow precious did that grace appear
\nThe hour I first believed.<\/p>\n

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
\nI have already come;
\n\u2019Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
\nAnd grace will lead me home.<\/p>\n

The Lord has promised good to me,
\nHis Word my hope secures;
\nHe will my Shield and Portion be,
\nAs long as life endures.<\/p>\n

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
\nAnd mortal life shall cease,
\nI shall possess, within the veil,
\nA life of joy and peace.<\/p>\n

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
\nThe sun forbear to shine;
\nBut God, Who called me here below,
\nShall be forever mine.<\/p>\n

When we\u2019ve been there ten thousand years,
\nBright shining as the sun,
\nWe\u2019ve no less days to sing God\u2019s praise
\nThan when we\u2019d first begun.<\/p>\n
