WHISNews21 Prayer Line and thoughts for yesterday, today and tomorrow by Marty Martel<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following is from Les Leverett<\/span><\/b>:
\nThank you so much Marty,\u00a0\u00a0 I got out of the hospital yesterday, Wednesday. I had atrial flutter, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.\u00a0 They ran wires up my body and down my body from my neck and blasted it, which cleared the flutter away.\u00a0 I am home getting over it all.\u00a0 Six days in hospital.
\nOur son Gary was leaving the hospital as we were coming in last Friday.\u00a0 He had been in there for four days.\u00a0 Heart irregular beats and racing, upset stomach and a splitting headache for days on end.
\nMy sweet wife, Dot, who has been into dementia since April of ’12 took a nose dive and is near death.\u00a0 Hospice thinks only a few days left for her.\u00a0 Keep you in your prayers.\u00a0\u00a0 Thanks.<\/p>\n

Prayer for This Day<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Heavenly Father, let me do my work this day; and if the darkened hours of despair overcome me, <\/b><\/p>\n

May I not forget the strength that comforted me in the desolation of other times. <\/b><\/p>\n

May I still remember the bright hours that found me walking over the silent hills of my childhood, <\/b><\/p>\n

Or dreaming on the margin of a quiet river, when a light glowed within me, <\/b><\/p>\n

And I promised my early God to have courage amid the tempests of the changing years.<\/b><\/p>\n

Spare me from bitterness and from the sharp passions of unguarded moments. <\/b><\/p>\n

May I not forget that poverty and riches are of the spirit. <\/b><\/p>\n

Though the world knows me not, may my thoughts and actions <\/b><\/p>\n

Be such as shall keep me friendly with myself.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lift up my eyes from the earth, and let me not forget the uses of the stars. <\/b><\/p>\n

Forbid that I should judge others lest I condemn myself. <\/b><\/p>\n

Let me not follow the clamor of the world, but walk calmly in my path.<\/b><\/p>\n

Give me a few friends who will love me for what I am; <\/b><\/p>\n

And keep ever burning before my vagrant steps the kindly light of hope.<\/b><\/p>\n

And though age and infirmity overtake me, and I come not within sight of the castle of my dreams, <\/b><\/p>\n

Teach me still to be thankful for life, and for time’s olden memories <\/b><\/p>\n

That are good and sweet; and may the evening’s twilight find me gentle still.<\/b><\/p>\n

Amen<\/b><\/p>\n
