Another beautiful email I thought of sharing with all at WHISNews21, this time my wife Cathy forwarded it to me from her Computer right next to me in the\u00a0same room as me. It made me think about how far the email had to travel from her computer which is an arms length\u00a0from me. Firstly, probably to a satellite\u00a0in space, and then to my server, and back to the satellite and then to my computer right in front of me, and all that in less than one minute.<\/p>\n
” When I was a kid, my Mum liked to make food for dinner every now & then & I remember one night\u00a0in particular when she had made dinner after a long, hard day at work.<\/p>\n
On that evening so long ago, my Mum placed a plate of bread jam and extremely burned biscuits in front\u00a0of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed!<\/p>\n
Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my Mum and ask me how my day was at school.
\nI don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember hearing my Mum apologize to my dad\u00a0for burning the biscuits. And I’ll never forget what he said:”Honey, I love burned biscuits.”<\/p>\n
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.
\nHe wrapped me in his arms and said,”Your mum put in a long hard day at work today and she’s real tired.<\/p>\n
And besides… A burnt biscuit never hurt anyone but harsh words do!”<\/p>\n
You know, life is full of imperfect things… And imperfect people. I’m not the best at hardly anything,\u00a0and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.<\/p>\n
What I’ve learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults and choosing to celebrate\u00a0each other’s differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting\u00a0relationship. So…please pass me a biscuit. And yes, the burnt one will do just fine!<\/p>\n
