I was unable to attend the funeral today, but I did get to offer my thoughts and condolences to Nancy and family last night.\u00a0 It was a open casket and George looked at Peace.\u00a0 Nancy held up for over 5 hours of meeting everyone who came to offer their support to her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Opry House holds approximately 4400 people, and I can guarantee you that there were over 5000 waiting for the doors to open this morning.<\/p>\n

I did watch the funeral on TV and it was a great celebration of George\u2019s life.\u00a0 Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Barbara Mandrell,\u00a0 Gov. Huckabee, and Alan Jackson were especially soulful as anyone I have ever listened to in my entire life on this earth.\u00a0 Vince had a very, very difficult time finishing his song Go Rest High On The Mountain, but Patty pulled him through it, and Vince gave his heart and soul when he played his guitar solo during the song.\u00a0\u00a0 Extremely one of the most soulful pieces on a guitar that I have ever heard.\u00a0 Barbara Mandrell brought her heart and soul to the stage to bid her friend goodbye, and Gov. Huckabee spoke words that were from his heart.\u00a0 Everyone did an awesome job, but Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, and Alan Jackson brought tears to my eyes.\u00a0 If you were watching, there is really nothing more that I can tell you.\u00a0 It was a great celebration of George\u2019s life and I know that he no doubt was with his friend Johnny PayCheck watching the celebration.<\/p>\n

The following is for our prayer lines: <\/b>Keep Nancy Jones and family in your thoughts and prayers as the sadness of their loss continues to hurt their hearts.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

MAY GEORGE\u2019S SOUL REST IN PEACE IN THE LOVING ARMS OF OUR BLESSED SAVIOR.<\/b><\/p>\n

I got this from my cousin in NY state and thought it perfect to pass on for a prayer request also. Many of you know Ramona Slover and I would like to ask you all to pray for her and her family that they be comforted in this hard time they are going through losing a loved one to cancer, it is Ramona’s nice Tina and she is in Houston now staying with her sister. Love you all! – Liz<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear God, In Jesus\u2019 name I pray for a cure for cancer. Amen<\/b><\/p>\n

I asked for prayers for Nick Nixon a few weeks ago. Dr’s gave him less than 3 weeks, the would have been about April 12. At his tribute\/fund raiser April 21 he was there in a wheel chair. He has come a long way even in the last 10 days.<\/p>\n

Marty, <\/strong>You may not be familiar with Turner Mires, he is one of the\u00a0 best guitar techs in Nashville.\u00a0 He’s been keeping alot of us pickers\u00a0 going for 40 years.\u00a0 He collapsed Friday and is in CCU at Skyline.\u00a0\u00a0 I don’t know his current condition but I understand it is extremely\u00a0 serious.\u00a0 Please keep him in your prayers –\u00a0Aire Yego,\u00a0 Roger<\/strong><\/p>\n

You\u2019re always there with me to help me out each day;\u00a0Even though I seldom listen to the words you have to say. The things I always pray for, I know they will come true;\u00a0 My joy and peace you give me when each day is new. You continue to forgive me for all that I have done;\u00a0When nights are filled with sorrow, the day will bring the sun. In days full of trouble, and friends won\u2019t say hi;\u00a0 I know you will be there with me to take me if I die. For who am I to deserve the grace you have shown;\u00a0 <\/em>Thank you Lord for keeping me, when life for me was cold<\/em> – <\/b>AMEN.<\/b><\/p>\n
