\"stpatrikhat\"During my life I had learned from my parents some important<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
ways to live a happier life. My mother <\/span>had told me in my early years to enjoy reading books…be selective about what you put into your life and head. Books can be great friends, and why not enjoy the time you spend with them. If you put books that don’t educate you, grow you, make you a better person, or bring you healthy enjoyment you will clog your brain with unnecessary clutter. Be different , believe in yourself, I believe in you. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
My Dad<\/span> encouraged me to give back to others as God gave me blessings . When I asked him “Give what Dad, he said what they need, no I am not talking about just money, but <\/span><\/strong>letting them know <\/span><\/strong>you really care about them”. Give them encouragement , and letting them know you are there for them.<\/span><\/strong>“Care about people, don’t <\/span><\/strong>be shy about letting them know you care , you are there for them, and pray for them”. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n
Today while looking for material for my Inspirational column I saw exactly what I wanted to focus on. “BE A BETTER YOU”<\/span> book that is chock full of great chapters. I always found it very interesting when I have a mission, God has gone before me and <\/span><\/strong>shows me where<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
to look for INSPIRATION,<\/span> and brings back wonderful memories of people that have truly inspired me. <\/span><\/strong>These days I am immersed <\/span><\/strong>in reading more and more books by people I admire, today it is Pastor \/Christian writer Joel Osteen. He is one of these authors . Chapter 11 of “BE A BETTER YOU”<\/span> centers on his High School days ” BRINGING THE BEST OUT OF PEOPLE:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/strong>\"basketball\"<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Pastor Osteen writes: When I was in middle school, I was one of the smaller players on the basketball team. In our first game of the season, we were scheduled to face a real good team, boasting a bunch of big guys. Naturally, at my size, it could have been easy to be intimidated by our opponents.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\"basketballplayer\"On game day I was walking through the school hallways in between classes, when my basketball coach called me over to where he was standing in front of several of my friends. He was a big, strong, tough coach, and in his usual gruff manner, he said, “Joel you’re not that tall<\/span>, but let me tell you, size doesn’t matter. What counts is right down in here.” He pointed his finger at his chest as he continued , “Joel you’ve got a big heart, and you’re going to do great this year.”<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 When I heard the coach’s words- spoken right in front of my friends- I stood up taller, threw my shoulders back, and smiled even more than usual ! <\/span><\/strong>You would have thought I was Michael Jordan. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
I thought to myself, The coach believes in me! My confidence shot up to a completely new level, and I played better that year than I’d ever done before. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we know somebody really believe in us. <\/span><\/strong>That coach took a little time to make a big difference. He took time to instill confidence in me. If we’re going to bring out the best in people, we too need to sow seeds of <\/span><\/strong>encouragement.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>“Well nobody’s encouraging me,” someone might say. “Why should I encourage anyone else?” If you want your life to increase, if you want your life to get better, then you need to help improve somebody else’s life. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
If you will help somebody else become successful, God will make sure that you are successful.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\"womaninlibrary\"God puts people in our lives on purpose so we can help them succeed and help them become all He created them to be. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Most people will not reach their full potential without somebody else believing in them. That means you and I have an assignment. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Everywhere we go we should be encouraging people, building them up, challenging them to reach for new heights. <\/span><\/strong>When people are around us, they should leave better off than they were previously. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Rather than feeling discouraged or defeated, people should feel challenged and inspired after spending any time with you and me. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
\"motherandchild\"The Bible says that love is kind. One translation says, “Love looks for a way of being constructive.” One translation says, “Love looks for a way of being constructive.” In other words, love looks for ways to help improve somebody else’s life. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Our attitude should be: Who can I encourage today? Who can I build up. It is only good if you honestly feel what you say. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
If you look back over your life you will find someone who played a pivotal role in helping you get to where you are today. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/strong>\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0<\/div>\n
\"manandwomaninoffice\"Maybe your parents or a teacher had confidence in you and helped you believe in yourself. Perhaps it was a boss who put you in a higher position even though you didn’t feel qualified at the time. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
“You’ve got what it takes. Maybe they saw something in you that you may not have seen in yourself, and they helped you get to that next level. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Now, it’s your turn to do something similar for somebody else. <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Who are you believing in? Who are you cheering on? Who are you helping to become successful ” Relationships are more important than our accomplishments.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
The bible says in First Corinthians 8, verse l , that love encourages people to grow to their full stature. When you believe the best in people, you help to bring the best out of them.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
