Marty, Thought I would let you know..Bryan Adams who played some shows with me before he had massive heart attack has passed. He was buried on March 3rd in Mnt City ,Tn. He had worked with David Houston and on the Opry with Little Jimmy Dickens. Please post this so his friends and fellow musicians in Nashville area will know…Darnell Miller<\/p>\n

Please keep Bryan family in your thoughts and prayers in this time of sadness in their lives.<\/p>\n

Hi Florine, <\/strong>We are going to need a little help on your prayer line, Freddie Hart’s wife Ginger will be going into the operating room in about two hours, it is now 1220 pm in California so that means between two and three our time. It is cancer, where I am not sure, Freddie was a little torn up when he called a few minutes ago but promised he would call no later then the first thing in the morning with an update as to her condition, at that time I will email you. So all the help you, me and the Lord can give her would be much appreciated by her family. All the best and Thanks<\/em> Florine <\/strong>Don<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following is an article published in today\u2019s Tennessean, and I felt that it delivered a powerful message that I should send out to everyone. We all at sometime in our life need someone to be our shoulder and ear when we are going through difficult times. I have been guilty of not being that kind of a person and this article has some great thoughts to put into our memory banks for the future when someone is in need of advice or just our friendship. Many times it is not intentional, I just did not want to infringe on my friends problems, but I should have offered my words to console and try to help.<\/p>\n

Mindy McCready celebrated by family, friends at Nashville service<\/span><\/h1>\n

It was the kind of day, cold and gusty, that makes it hard to believe that spring is on the horizon.<\/p>\n

It was also a day that brought out hurting friends, their collars turned to the chill, to gather at the Cathedral of the Incarnation to remember singer Mindy McCready<\/a>, who took her own life on Feb. 17.<\/a> On that sad day, standing in the cold on the front-porch of her home in Heber Springs, Ark., McCready lost sight of the horizon.<\/p>\n

A Wednesday-afternoon gathering in Nashville \u2014 organized by her publicist Kat Atwood along with singers Lorrie Morgan<\/a>, Bekka Bramlett<\/a>, and Bryan White <\/a>\u2014brought together mostly family and friends and music industry people whose paths intersected with McCready\u2019s early in her career.<\/p>\n

Morgan, a labelmate at RCA, spoke about their nights of carousing that earned consternation from then boss Joe Galante<\/a>. Morgan also remembered McCready\u2019s soulful eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn her eyes, I could always see sadness\u2026a soul crying for help,\u201d later adding,\u201cWho knows what could have made Mindy truly happy? We all seem to ask ourselves, \u2018What could we have done to change this sad outcome?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Others, like bandleader Jimmy Nichols<\/a>, took up the call to love more and judge less.\u201cWe should look deeper into the lives of those of us who cry out for help and see if there isn\u2019t more that we can do to make a difference in others\u2019 lives, even if it means some sacrifices within our own.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were few allusions to McCready\u2019s struggles with alcohol and drugs, addiction and abuse. The Rev. Edward F. Steiner instead drew attention to McCready\u2019s love, music, and the two children she left behind, 6-year-old Zander and 11-month-old Zayne.<\/p>\n

The children were not at the service, but McCready\u2019s mother Gayle Inge, along with brothers and cousins represented the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust by watching what happened today, Mindy touched so many lives,\u201d Inge said. \u201cShe was in and out of lives that I didn\u2019t even really know about. I was just mom at home. But I think we\u2019ll always remember her by her voice. She\u2019s always been the sunshine. When she was little, she was always the loudest one in the house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cousin Ashley Webb read a statement from McCready\u2019s father, who continues to mourn in private.<\/p>\n

In the letter he said,\u201cHow I wish with all my heart she would still be here.\u201d He also referenced her fianc\u00e9 David Wilson, who took his own life on the same Arkansas porch a month before McCready, saying that Mindy and Wilson were \u201cdeeply in love.\u201d<\/p>\n

The service was also about music. White sang the Point of Grace song \u201cWhat I Already Know,\u201dMorgan offered a heartbreaking rendition of \u201cAve Maria\u201d that filled the sanctuary, while Bramlett channeled old-soul spirituality of \u201cHow Great Thou Art.\u201d<\/p>\n

The service concluded with recently recorded but unreleased versions of McCready singing \u201cThe Dance\u201d and \u201cBoth Sides Now,\u201d songs that shone with a voice still great but punctuated with the sadness of loss.<\/p>\n

As people filed out of the church back into a cold afternoon, brushed with the gold of the setting sun, Inge acknowledged the end.<\/p>\n

\u201cMindy did deal with issues, but she\u2019s healed today. And I don\u2019t know that she could have been healed here, but she\u2019s healed on the other side.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

And while too many commentaries called her demise a downward spiral, it was apparent from the people who knew her best, that this descent was too precipitous, that nobody there could catch this crashing star.<\/p>\n
