Dierks Bentley CMA Fest Performance With Dwight Yoakam
This is the best CMA Fest of my life. I can’t believe that just happened this is crazy
Fans tuned in to the CMA Fest TV special on ABC were in for a special treat when Dierks Bentley teamed up with Dwight Yoakam for a very special performance. During his set, Bentley invited the legendary performer onstage to sing his 1993 hit “Fast As You.” The moment had Bentley freaking out in the best way possible.
“I got goosebumps all over my body,” Bentley told the Nissan Stadium crowd following the performance. “This is the best CMA Fest of my life. I can’t believe that just happened. I need a drink. I need to calm down. This is crazy.”
The collaboration was labeled the Pepsi Generation performance, which brought two artists from different time periods together for a one-of-a-kind moment.
The CMA Fest special aired Wednesday night on ABC, with performances from Bentley, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and many others. The show was taped during the four-night CMA Music Festival, held in Nashville, TN.
The 2019 CMA Music Festival will return June 6-9, 2019. Pre-sale is available now, with general on sale beginning Monday, Aug. 6. Visit CMAFest.com or call the CMA Box Office at 1-800-CMA-FEST for more information.

CMA Fest 2018: Randy Travis Honored Sunday Night
Travis was presented with the inaugural Cracker Barrel Country Legend Award
Randy Travis’ seminal Storms of Life album turns 32 this month. This weekend Travis was presented with the inaugural Cracker Barrel Country Legend Award during Warner Music Nashville night at Ascend Amphitheater during CMA Music Festival. “There’s a lot of things that Randy doesn’t get real excited about, but when I mentioned this to him he was so happy,” said the singer’s wife Mary Travis. Randy Travis was seated beside his wife, smiling broadly and nodding as she spoke. The singer’s speech is still impacted by the stroke that nearly claimed his life in 2013.
“I think it’s where he realizes that he did make a difference,” Mary Travis continued. “He has a song called, ‘I did my part.’ It really hits home with him. For them to pick him for the first Cracker Barrel Country Legends Award, they could have picked so many great artists, but they picked him. It speaks volumes for what he did for country music.” To qualify to win the Cracker Barrel Country Legend Award, artists must be a top influencer in country with decades of experience.
In addition to the trophy that Randy Travis accepted on stage, a donation of $5,000 was made to the CMA Foundation in his name. Travis and singer Michael Ray accepted the check from Cracker Barrel on behalf of the CMA Foundation. Later, Ray paid tribute to Travis during his set, performing the singer’s signature hit Forever and Ever, Amen.
However, the night was memorable for another reason. The occasion marked the first time Randy Travis had worn blue jeans and boots since his stroke. Lucchese made the singer special double-zip boots to support his legs and ankles so he could wear them without his braces. Mary Travis found his Wranglers in the back of the closet. She said it was an emotional moment to help him slide his feet into his boots. As she did, Ray was there to steady the singer’s wheel chair.
“The jeans had been in there for five years,” Mary Travis said. “I got to put them on him. I cried. The boots are so comfortable. Lucchese came out to the house and did three fittings. They said we just want Randy Travis back in boots. It’s boots-on-the-ground country music.”
After Randy Travis accepted the trophy, he and Mary Travis did what they did the previous two nights – they went to Nissan Stadium to watch CMA Music Festival’s nightly concerts.
Over the course of the festival, the couple caught sets from Carrie Underwood, Brothers Osborne, Jason Aldean, Brett Young and more. And that night, they were anxious to see Keith Urban.
“We have a good time coming back (to CMA Music Festival),” she said. “The first year we came back (after his stroke), it was really really tough,” she explained, tearing up. “It was tough to get through knowing that the year before he was on the stage, and the reality of may be never getting back on the stage and hoping and praying he would.”
Mary Travis pointed out that he did get back on stage, he’s just singing a different song. “He’s still making that huge difference … just in a way that we would not have been able to make a difference before,” she said.

Rose Angelica Shares Her 2016 Fan Fest Experience Part 5
On Day Five I Shared The Stage With Some The Top Independent Artists In Nashville
Donna Cunningham, Colonel Garry Thomas, Elvis Carden, JK Coltrain, Lacey and Cheyenne Rose Angelica
Thursday evening I was lucky enough to perform at the Country Star Showcase in Music Valley where I shared the stage with some the top independent artists in Nashville, of which many artists were from AirplayExpress. During performances we had a great time talking about the music industry and really enjoying each others songs. We also spoke proudly of how much our fans were supporting us at the CMA MusicFest. I was so excited to find out, that everyone was as happy as I was, that my song, “Girls Just Wanna Drink Beer” was at #1 on Airplay Express Top 200 chart for June 2016.
Some of the other great singers, entertainers and good friends of mine that I was honored to share the stage with at the Country Star Showcase in Music Valley were, Donna Cunningham, Colonel Garry Thomas, Elvis Carden, JK Coltrain, Lacey and Cheyenne. We all had such a good time but, as always it had to end sometime, yet the memory of such a great, exciting and wonderful evening, being in the company of my fellow artists in Nashville, still the Country Music Capital of the world, will stay with me forever, thank you all.

Rose Angelica Shares Her 2016 Fan Fest Experience Part 4
On Thursday June 9 as the CMA Fan Fest started. I began the morning signing autographs at The Lamon Records booth in the AT&T Fan Fair X Center downtown Nashville, next to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
I was greeted by fans, and friends. It was great fun getting interviewed on TV live and meeting all the wonderful people. Country Music fans are the best.
This was my 5th year at CMA Fan Fest “It is great to be in Nashville again and see so many stars, friends, and fans, Rose said and added, “There’s nothing like performing here.”
My hit song ” Girls Just Wanna Drink Beer” was #1 on the Top 20 Airplay Express Charts for June 2016, and #1 on the Top 200 charts just a week or two ago .

It was great fun seeing some of my songwriter friends again & meeting new ones at the Bobby’s Idle Hour
On Wednesday last week during the CMA FanFest, I performed at the famous Bobby’s Idle Hour Tavern. Its a very well known bar on Music Row where all the stars and music executives hang out and relax and hope to discover new songs and acts. It’s even referred to as a quintessential neighborhood bar, serving as the “official” home for several of the music industry’s die-hard veterans, hit songwriters, recording studio guns, and emerging talent. Cold beer, cool Country and an eclectic mix of music and friends and there I was, thinking Girls Just Wanna Drink Beer (lol)
It was great fun to see some of my songwriter friends again and to meet some new ones while at Bobby’s Idle Hour. My good friend Lauren Michetti was there performing some great new songs as well during her performance. Lauren is really a great writer and performer.
When it was my turn to step up to the stage, there was no way I would be able to finish without my #1 AirplayExpress charted single, “Girls Just Wanna Drink Beer” but then why would I not play it for the fans after all, Girls Just Wanna Drink Beer @ Bobby’s Idle Hour in Nashville, Tennessee too.

If only we could relive parts of our lives I would certainly want to relive my time at the CMA MusicFest’s fan fair week, it was so exciting.

Rose & Buddy Jewel on Lamon Records Nashville Having A Great Time at Fan Fest ’16
Last Wednesday was another special day for me as we went to Nashville’s Twin Country Duo, Moore and Moore Fan Club party and had such a great time listening to good music and just hanging out with the stars at the world-famous Nashville Palace on Music Valley Drive.
For those of you who may not know where that is, The Nashville Palace is right across from the Opryland Hotel and a short five minute drive to the Grand Ole Opry house which is situated right behind the Opryland Hotel, well thats if you are at the Nashville Palace having fun.
I really enjoyed talking with Country Superstar Buddy Jewel, pictured above with me. Buddy is also on Lamon Records with me, Bobby Rice, Bobby Lewis and Michael Twitty. We all had a great time but as time stops for no one so did the night….till next time…Rose

There Were Stages All Over Town With Free Music & Big Stars Performing Everywhere
Country Music Association CMA fan Fest 2016 was truly a very exciting week for me one that I am happy top relive for y’all on WHISNews21. It was very hot in Nashville a schorching 95-99 degrees almost everyday and the music thankfully was even hotter which made it all worthwhile. I am not kidding you there were stages all over town with free music and big stars performing around every corner and just about everywhere you go.
I started the week off by performing at the world famous Bluebird Café which most of you have either been to or seen in a movie somewhere sometime, and most recently in the very popular Nashville TV series. It was my 1st performance there ever and I was very excited to be honest. It was unbelievable when I was told that the crowd was waiting in the hot sun, 95-99 degrees for more than 2 hours to get into the 75 seat club.
If you have ever been there you will know that there is not much place to hide from the sun outside the Bluebird Café. I did manage to sneak in a picture with my biggest fan Rich my husband after the show while leaving. I felt so honored when a couple of fans showed up from England just to see me, and the first thing they said is they just love my #1 song on AirplayExpress – “Girls Just Wanna Drink Beer”. They made me feel great as they were so thrilled to see me and get an autograph and a picture with me at the Bluebird.
It was great fun to play on the stage that so many stars have performed on and where they filmed the TV show Nashville. If anyone could have read my mind they would have know that I wouldve played there all day and into the night, but then I had to finally finish up but hey it was just amazing
