Exclusive Go Inside Nashville’s Johnny Cash Museum
The Johnny Cash Museum in downtown Nashville got a tip of the cowboy hat from TripAdvisor, as it was recently named a 2017 Top 25 Trending U.S. Attractions for Summer. Joining national attractions such as Mount Rushmore, Fenway Park and the Grand Canyon on TripAdvisor’s list, the Johnny Cash Museum, which opened in 2013, has become a destination for both tourists and locals.
The museum is dedicated to the life and music career of Johnny and features a comprehensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the Man in Black, including stage costumes, instruments, personal letters, artwork and handwritten lyrics, as well as contributions from family members and notable friends.
The Johnny Cash Museum is open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. General admission is $18.95, with discounts for children, senior citizens and military members.

For Thousands Of Intelligent Good-Looking Readers
WE NAMED HIM DONN
We named him Donn, but called him Donny when he was little.
He was a beautiful kid. His mother, my ex-wife, raised him,
except for a couple of years,
so when we finally met, as people, he was all grown up.
We tried to figure each other out,
and worked at getting to know one another.
At first he had resentments toward me and tried to hide them,
but we both felt something needed to be resolved.
For some reason it was hard to talk directly at the REAL subject.
I knew that he had heard a lot of things about me from his mother…
not all good.
Some were probably true.
Then he went away for a few more years before we tried again.
The next time was better.
We both had had time to think things over.
People told us we walked and laughed exactly alike.
We understood each other’s humor.
We were sitting with our wives in a barbecue restaurant
on one of his visits.
We both reached for the check, and I said,
“I’ve never done a damn thing for you,
so I’m going to do this one thing, and then THAT’S IT!”
He said this: “Aw, gee, pops. I wanted to go to college.”
We all broke up laughing.
That was the last time Misty and I saw him alive…
at least I think so.
That whole period is sort of mixed up in my mind.
He was riding his motorcycle in traffic
when the car in front of him hit the brakes.
Donn’s bike hit the car and threw him.
We rushed from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale to the hospital,
and he looked perfectly healthy,
except he was brain dead.
I talked to him anyway.
After that it’s all a blur.
Somebody pulled the plug and Donn died,
There was a little funeral in northern Tennessee.
I keep thinking of things I should have said and done differently.
I guess that’s natural.
Maybe someday we’ll get another chance to hash it all out.

Devotional: Invoke God’s Blessing upon Your Life
Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the God of truth; he takes an oath in the land will swear by the God of truth. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes. Isaiah 65:16
The word ‘invoke’ implies these two things: 1) to make an earnest request for, or to solicit; 2) to put into effect or operation, or to implement. With that in mind, read this Scripture: ‘[It shall be] that he who invokes a blessing on himself in the land shall do so by saying, May the God of truth and fidelity [the Amen] bless me; and he who takes an oath in the land shall swear by the God of truth and faithfulness to His promises [the Amen], because the former troubles are forgotten.’ That’s a powerful promise! Even as God, our Father, spoke the world into existence, we too can use the Scriptures to frame the world we will live in. When you speak the blessing of God over your life, you ‘make an earnest request and solicit it’. And you also put it into effect or operation, and implement it’. This is why God told Moses to bless the Israelites with these words: ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace’ (Numbers 6:24-26). Then God added, ‘And I will bless them’ (v. 27). Now you can understand why speaking God’s Word over your life can change things for the better, and why the Bible says, ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue’ (Proverbs 18:21). So the word for you today is – invoke God’s blessing upon your life!
Prayer Heavenly Father,
Your Word gives me Life and Life eternal through Your son Jesus Christ
I can live today with that assurance. Thank you Jesus. Amen
