TOM ELLIS [Veteran WABC TV NYC & WBZ TV Boston, MA & KONO-860/KONO TV San Antonio, TX news anchor] (Boston-Cape Cod-East Sandwich-Newton, MA) Hi, Jim and Suzie, As I’ve related to you many times before, when we drove from the Thicket to Dallas on old Highway 80 right through the heart of Terrell, we passed directly by the base where the British pilots were being trained. Approaching Terrell going both ways – that is to and from Dallas – the skies always were full of bi-winged aircraft…the old Stinson trainer planes. We knew exactly what was going on, and as a kid who wanted desperately to enlist, I always grew extremely excited when I saw those planes in the air and on the ground. Those are some of my most clearly remembered and cherished childhood memories….passing through Terrell where we were training British pilots. I wanted so badly to join them. Tom

STANLEY TEATER [ex KTEM-1400] (Austin-Cedar Park, TX) Subject: Verle Freeman (BJ Adams). Sign me up for the newsletter. I must have been at KTEM (1400) when all of that drama was going on, but I don’t remember hearing anything about it. I lived in the sales department for my first six or seven months there writing commercials. During the 3+ years I was there I was promoted several times, but none of my previous responsibilities went away, new ones were added. I started as a copywriter, then became copywriter/production director, then copywriter/production director/office manager, then copywriter/production director/office manager/operations manager. Finally, they gave the production manager duties to B.J. After the GM Don Chaney was moved to Tyler (He took Chuck White with him) the sales manager George Franz was made GM. Stan

CHARLES GEORGE [kc5rai, ex KCHU FM] (Dallas, TX) Subject: Down Here on The Ground. I think you have learned about building a on a Firm Foundation. I do not believe God singles out persons for Punishment without getting those he wants to Safety. Though we make choices, like if two groups are playing the same night at the same time. Though one has a show later than the other. When I wanted my first guitar my father asks me, “How much does a Guitar cost?” My mother says, “Does he need a Guitar? Where would he put it? Will he practice?” Anyway on Christmas Morning there was a Silvertone Acoustic Guitar, a record with Down In The Valley and Home on The Range and how to tune a Guitar. They also had Clothes needed for school. 73, Charles, KC5RAI
