Where Have All The DJs Gone?
I never understood what producing has in common with DJing
DJing is L I V E-ACTION, mixing music once and LIVE, intuition, great knowledge of music, empathy for moods and people. Producing is more like fuzzy office work: highly interesting, but still office work.
There are superb Mixes of bedroom-DJs on the web, who don’t know a thing on producing, and there are lousy DJs among the top producers. I’ve never understood, why club-owners hire good producers as DJs.
Today, it’s even more bizarre: Kids from celebs and other strange people, who have no feeling for music and can’t even mix with auto-sync, get high-paid gigs.

Tennessee Church Racist Killer Kills Mother Of Two
Police said Samson was a native of Sudan and came to the United States in 1996.
Samson is a legal U.S. resident, but police did not know if he was a citizen.
It is alleged that the black racist killer may have acted to avenge the murders of nine black people in a South Carolina church two years ago, but that is pure speculation at the moment as this hate crime may just have been an excuse to kill.
Federal authorities have opened a hate-crimes investigation into the Nashville shooting. Church minister Joey Spann, 60, managed to tell his flock to flee before being critically wounded in the shooting. His wife, Peggy, 65, was also shot. According to reports police say Samson was wearing a mask at the time, of the killing spree.
It is possible that the wearing of the mask was intended to hide his identity while committing these hate crimes, believing that by wearing a mask to conceal his identity he would not have been identified once he had committed this horrible act of racism.
The truth is if it was not for the Hero of the day, 22-year-old usher named Robert Engle, who tackled the gunman while suffering injuries himself from the gunman as he was pistol whipped in the struggle, Samson would have had the right of way to actually kill dozens more Church members as he was prepared to kill. According to the police four guns believed to be Samson’s was recovered after the shooting. Two pistols were found inside the church, and a pistol and rifle were found in Samson’s SUV.
According to reports, Samson the gunman entered the sanctuary of the building through the front door. He came into the building with two pistols, both of which were recovered inside the church. He then allegedly fired multiple rounds inside the sanctuary, wounding six people.
Racist Samson is accused of killing Melanie Smith, 39, a single Mother of two and shooting to kill as he walked through the church silently, Picking selective members of the Church to shoot, before an usher Robert Engle, risked his life to stop the killing.
Other Church members wounded are Church minister Joey Spann, and his wife Peggy 65, William Jenkins, 83; Marlene Jenkins, 84; Linda Busch, 68, and Katherine Dickerson, 68. in the church shooting that left six others wounded in Tennessee on Sunday.
In a statement Engle said he did not want to be labeled a hero.
“The real heroes are the police, first responders and medical staff and doctors who have helped me and everyone affected.” Engle said
“The Memphis FBI Field Office’s Nashville Resident Agency, the Civil Rights Division, and the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee have opened a civil rights investigation into the shooting at the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ,” said David Boling, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. “The FBI will collect all available facts and evidence.”
The comment section is open for comments. No racist or hateful remarks will be approved, unless they are simply facts.

TOM ELLIS [Veteran WABC TV NYC & WBZ TV Boston, MA & KONO-860/KONO TV San Antonio, TX news anchor] (Boston-Cape Cod-East Sandwich-Newton, MA) Hi, Jim and Suzie, As I’ve related to you many times before, when we drove from the Thicket to Dallas on old Highway 80 right through the heart of Terrell, we passed directly by the base where the British pilots were being trained. Approaching Terrell going both ways – that is to and from Dallas – the skies always were full of bi-winged aircraft…the old Stinson trainer planes. We knew exactly what was going on, and as a kid who wanted desperately to enlist, I always grew extremely excited when I saw those planes in the air and on the ground. Those are some of my most clearly remembered and cherished childhood memories….passing through Terrell where we were training British pilots. I wanted so badly to join them. Tom

Country’s fast-rising star Chris Lane continues to reach new heights during a standout summer, with his current single “For Her” officially certified GOLD by the RIAA. The tender tune is on the verge of Country radio’s Top 10, as Lane crisscrosses the country on Florida Georgia Line’s THE SMOOTH TOUR 2017, bringing his heart-melting falsetto and R&B-infused jams to thousands of adoring fans night after night.
Lane was surprised with shiny new hardware recognizing the track’s 500,000 sales and streams by CMT Hot 20 Countdown hosts Katie Cook and Cody Alan just minutes before he hyped up the sold-out crowd at the Wrigley Field stop on FGL’s THE SMOOTH STADIUM TOUR 2017 .
“It was a dream come true to play Wrigley Field, and for Cody and Katie to surprise me with the GOLD plaque honoring ‘For Her’ was more than I could have ever imagined,” said Lane. “I’m so thankful that this song impacted fans as much as it did me the first time I heard it.”
“For Her” joins Lane’s GOLD-certified debut, “Fix,” which shot to #1 on the Country charts and scored nominations for New Male Vocalist of the Year at the 52nd annual ACM Awards and Best New Country Artist at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Propelling into the national spotlight, Lane made his late-night TV debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers, as well as performing “For Her” on CONAN and ABC’s reality romance series The Bachelor earlier this year.
Written by Kelly Archer, Sarah Buxton and Matt Dragstrem, “For Her” is a devoted, hearts-on-fire confession of love and the second release from Lane’s Big Loud Records debut album, GIRL PROBLEMS. To date, “For Her” has amassed 31 million streams on Spotify, with the heartfelt music video — complete with a real-life proposal — racking up 7.7 million Vevo views.
Kellie Pickler Answers Fans’ Advice Qs
One fan asks the singer, “What if you are feeling doubtful of fulfilling your dream?”
“We all have those moments,” Pickler sympathizes. “Be prepared to be told ‘no’ more times than you’re going to be told ‘yes.’ Take constructive criticism, and work hard on what you need to improve on. Never stop chasing your dreams.”
Another fan asks, “What’s your advice for when you’re stuck creatively?”
“If you feel stuck, sometimes you got to walk away from it for a minute,” she explains. “Clear your head and then come back to the table and you’ll see it in a different light. Don’t let yourself get too frustrated to where you give up. It’s OK to take a break.”

The day after joining Justin Timberlake live onstage at the 2017 Pilgrimage Music & Culture Festival, Chris Stapleton, a 2017 CMT Artist of the Year, represented the country music community at Dave Matthews Band’s Concert for Charlottesville: An Evening of Music and Unity at the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium. Those who attended Sunday’s (Sept. 24) concert said the show was needed to help heal and unify the community following the violence that occurred during a protest rally on Aug. 11-12 in the city’s downtown area.
At one point during Sunday’s show, Matthews shared the spotlight with Susan Bro, the mother of Heather Heyer, the 32-year-old woman who was killed while protesting the protest event.
Admission for Sunday’s (Sept. 24) benefit in Charlottesville was free and the night featured performances by Dave Matthews Band, Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, The Roots, Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, Cage the Elephant, Stevie Wonder and Coldplay’s Jonny Buckland and Chris Martin.
The concert benefitted the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation’s Concert for Charlottesville Fund, which supports victims of the violence that occurred last month, as well as their families, first responders and other organizations dedicated to promoting healing, unity and justice locally and nationwide.
