JACK PARNELL [ex WHBQ-560 DJ-Program Director] (Memphis, TN) Jim: I get email from people sometimes who say things like: “Boy, I’ll bet you’re a great fisherman, learning all that stuff from work with Bill Dance…” What they don’t know is that I’m not a fisherman at all, but I love doing the voiceovers for Bill. About 4o years ago, I was doing 3 or 4 different fishing shows for other master fishermen. One of them even flew me to L.A. to do some special shows, and various commercials Nor, am I a hunter, but a few years ago I did all the voiceover work for the White Tail Deer TV shows. I did them for about 4 seasons, then the show switched to a new production company, and that company chose one of their own talents. At the same time, I was flying back and forth occasionally to Pittsburgh where they had a very special booking agency where they booked safaris…that was also fun. Their bookings were twofold and worldwide. Many “camera only” bookings were being booked by them too. I’ve done a lot of interesting voiceovers for a lot of shows. JP

The metal tile on the walls was the best I ever heard to this day. There was a BIG dent on the wall behind the console in production near the ceiling. > it was where Ted Cassidy hit the wall during one of his tantrums.

CHUCK DUNAWAY [ex WABC-770, WKY-930, KILT-610, KLIF-1190] (Houston-Katy, TX) Subject: wrestling. When I was a kid…professional wrestling was the biggest thing on TV…not much else to watch. I loved it then and still enjoy it. My friend Jim Pruitt promoted some wrestling shows when he was alive. Kendall and I went to a couple. Kendall hated it so we didn’t go as much as I would have if she enjoyed it just a little. Chuck PS: long live Killer Kowalski…Bull Curry etc.. (www.chuckdunawaydj.com/)
KILLER KOWALSKI [Professional wrestler (81) North Andover, MA] (October 13, 1926 – August 30, 2008)If I had to do it all over again — I’d be an electrical engineer.
