George D Hay Society induction of stars held on August 12,
at the Star Theater in Willow Springs, Missouri At 6 PM
The Society for the preservation of the legacy of the man who founded the Grand Ole Opry. George D. Hay The inspiration came from a cabin hoedown at the Missouri town of Old Town, Missouri in 1919 and with this inspiration came the birth of the Opry in 1925 when Mr. Hay became the program Director of the new WSM radio station in Nashville, Tennessee.
George Dewey Hay was a remarkable visionary and colorful romantic who played a vital role in the commercializing and promotion of country music.
This year the George D Hay Society induction of stars held on August 12, at the Star Theater in Willow Springs, Missouri At 6 PM.
The 2017 inductees are : Colonel Eric Lewis, Carter Stanley, Leland Martin & Denver Hoskins.
Roger Woods with Rogers Music Promotions will receive Promoter of the year award and Cabin award, Judy Haney will receive country song writer of the year & cabin award.
Debbie Cochran, Gospel song writer of the year, Steve Quick, Radio personality of the year, Randy Hawkins, heritage award, Ron Smith, heritage award, my group, entertainers of the year, my group will do the preshow.
Group representative Eric Lewis says that they’re thankful for the Star Theatre allowing the event to be held there this year.
