LISA GOODWIN (Tehachapi, CA) Subject: Jackie Sprott, aka J. Hugh Sprott and Jay Scott, Good morning Sir, my name Lisa Goodwin. I have been searching for a man that my Dad, Larry Goodwin used to work with years ago at KXTV channel 10 in Sacramento. We knew him as Jay Scott and we simply adored him. “We” being my sisters and myself, who were known at Channel 10 as the “Goodwin Girls”. Jay was an Anchorman and my Dad was a Reporter. The two of them ended up working together again at KTTV channel 11 in Los Angeles. Unfortunately they lost contact after that, which was about the mid-late 80’s. I have searched the internet for hours and hours for anything current about Jay Scott but had found nothing. We desperately want to reconnect with him by any means possible.

BEN HAROLD [ex KXOL-1360, ex KNUZ-1230, ex KLIF-1190, ex KENR-1070] (Knoxville TN) Subject: JRRR #1616: Webb Hunt. When I was doing AM drive news for 1230 KNUZ, I’d work occasional fill-in morning news for KQUE-FM. Webb had a great personality (and voice). He ALWAYS always wore “his” uniform to work daily, a one-piece front zip overhaul with white socks. He ate his homemade lunch from a sturdy metal lunchbox, probably drank homemade coffee from the inside thermos and cup. If you didn’t know better, you’d think he was a factory worker. Web was one of the more laid back and intelligent characters I’ve worked with in a lifetime career in broadcasting. Pet Suzie for me, please. Ben Harold, Knoxville TN, ex-KXOL 1360, ex-KNUZ 1230, ex-KLIF 1190, ex-KENR 1070, ex-lots of places.

JAY WEAVER [KLBK–1360 Lubbock; KBUY–1540 Fort Worth] (DFW-Hurst, TX) Subject: WBAP Radio. Jim, not trying to be picky but just a small correction. In your “Jim Rose Remembers Radio” #1614 for May 8, you mention WBAP celebrating 90 years of broadcasting and wrote that it is “WBAP, Dallas”. Well WBAP is licensed to the City of Fort Worth and has been for 90 years with towers location in Mansfield, TX. Again, not trying to be picky, but both WBAP and KSCS-FM along with KXAS-TV are all licensed to Fort Worth, TX. WBAP and KSCS-FM Studios are in Dallas at Victory Park and KXAS-TV Studios are located in Fort Worth just south of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and close to the “D-FW Population Center” on the grounds of the old Amon Carter Airport. Only the towers for all three remain on Broadcast Hill in east Fort Worth at Oakland Blvd. and I-30, Tom Landry Freeway. Jay
