SILENCE THE LAMB One of the most chilling, frightening movies of the 1990s is filmmaker, producer and screenwriter Robert Jonathan Demme’s Silence of the Lambs in 1991. Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal of the scary Dr. Hannibal Lecter is unbelievable. Jonathan Demme born on February 22, 1944 in Baldwin, NY who reaches his pinnacle with comedy films Melvin and Howard, Swing Shift, Something Wild and Married to the Mob passes away at 73 of esophageal cancer on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

RITA KRESS [one of my 1990s KILT FM fans] (Oak Park, FL) Do not have Windows 10 heard too many bad things about it so as long as I can I have windows 7. Always wanted to retire in Florida since I saw it on a trip back in 1975, never thought I would be able to afford it. But just came in time 4 yrs ago, when the housing industry was down, before all the prices are going sky high again here. Weather also changed in Houston, got much colder in the winter than when I had first came in 1978 and very much wetter. Houston believe or not had the climate of Florida then. I first lived in Clearwater in a condo, I remodeled it, held it for a while until the prices were sky rocketing in the area and flipped it so I could buy a house. I am now out in the country in the middle of orange groves in a small town called Avon Park which is in the center of the state sort of east of Sarasota. Where I live now I have 1/4 of an acre of land, corner lot, forest on all other sides any neighbors are across the street from me. Moved here in February and home prices have climbed 25% and still rising. You have come a long way into being computer savvy guru, I was impressed when you started your newsletter and knew how to set everything up.

JASON WAYNE [ex KNOW-1490] (San Antonio, TX) Oh my…what a transition to KPCN (730)…from KHFI (FM). I just looked up the coverage of 730Kc. and what a daytime signal…all the way South to Temple and North to Norman, OK. !!!! Quite a coverage area…and almost to Longview & Abilene, East & West! Was Bill Mack there at this time? was this the station Eddie Childs owned? I did not ever work with Ed Brandon, but am well aware of who he is and his tenure at KTRK CH 13 in Houston. Many from my day at KNOW (1490) remember him and how popular he was.

TRIVIA ANSWER: On April 24, 1949, Dick Powell begins a four-year run as Richard Diamond, Private Detective on NBC Radio. In the late 1950s, Powell’s company, Four Star Television, produces a TV version with star David Janssen. His secretary, Sam, is shown only from the waist down to display the beautiful legs of actress Mary Tyler Moore. The October 1964 issue of TV Radio Mirror magazine features KVIL FM’s all night DJ Girl Named Sam which is Mary Stoddard.

CHUCK DUNAWAY [WABC-770, KLIF-1190, KBOX-1480 & KILT-610] (Houston-Katy, TX) When we had Willie at our Live concerts on KFM in Dallas…the hard part was closing the shows as Willie, once on stage, seemed to play forever…repeating song a few times during the set…once Ray Wylie Hubbard and Rusty Weir got up and jammed with Willie and the concert lasted over three hours…we were live on the air and being a Sunday…we let the bands play on…fun days…”Outlaw Days” were fun days…where have all the “Outlaws” gone? Chuck (
