Rhonnie Scheuerman’s Inspiration Station For All In Need This Morning
Author: Alma Barkman
Rather than tote the heavy hamper down the stairs on wash day, I sort the laundry on the main floor and carry each load separately to the basement. Even though it make sense more trips up and down stairs. I feel it’s safer. But not always. The other day in my haste I didn’t bundle the load tightly in my arms and a trailing apron string tangled itself around my ankle and nearly led to my downfall. Thankfully, I managed to regain my balance jut in time.
Our washer can have balance problems too. It usually does its thing without complaining, but once in a while a loud clunking and thumping during the spin cycle puts me on high alert. I go tearing down the steps, stop it in the midst of the cycle , redistribute the load, turn the dial and everything hums right along again.
My life is a lot like that washer. Whenever things begin to spin out of control, it’s usually because of an unbalanced load. If I feel as if I’m about to fly apart, I know I have to stop, rethink my priorities and redistribute irresponsibility . When I do, everything falls into place and life resumes the way God intended it to be….quietly and efficiently .
Lord, help me maintain a balanced life for Your honor and glory… Alma
