Wyn Machon Tell’s It Like It Is On WHISNews21
A nice sunny day awaits outside, so may have to get out and do something in the garden. Our fruit trees are ready to burst into blossom, a good sign spring is right around the corner. Joy and I have been working on our wee caravan so that’s all ready to hook up to the car and we can head away for some trips, if the weather decides to do the right thing where we want to head to, at the moment all we see on the weather forecast for the other side of the Island is rain.
We are hoping to do some exploring in an area where we have been before but not had a really good look around, in other words take some time to look at places. Where we want to head to is quite a few hours drive from home so we will take two days to get there, The town of Westport is one spot we are going to, there is a private Country Music Museum there and I have been informed its a place to visit.
I know the USA and other countries have their history, but we as a very young country still have a huge amount of history of forgotten towns where gold was mined, timber milling towns etc etc, these areas are what we are looking for. Those towns disappeared many years ago but the history remains in museums. cheers Wyn.
