IHEART SUES ITS BONDHOLDERS The San Antonio Express-News reports that on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, iHeartMedia files another lawsuit against its bondholders over damages caused by its previous suit over the transfer of debt. The News states: the dispute delays its ability to refinance some of its debt and that it costs more to restructure its bonds as a result. iHeart claims: the trial increases the price of the company’s debt and seeks between $100 million and $475 million in damages. And the beat goes on.

DAN MCCURDY (aka: Charlie Brown, KLIF; Dan Patrick, KBOX; WMEX, Boston, MA; Texas Radio Hall of Fame inductee, 2004) (Sherman, TX) Jim…just wanted to clear up a date in JRRR. I left KBOX in January 1967 and joined 7-Eleven’s ad agency on January 23. I left prior to the format switch to C&W. The report regarding Larry Scott’s move to KBOX in 1966 is incorrect. His appearance on 1480 was after I left.

TRIVIA ANSWER: Orchestra leader Ray Bloch born in France provides music for hundreds of radio shows, plus TV Superstars Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason.

CHARLES GEORGE [KC5RAI – ex KCHU FM] (Dallas, TX) I am thinking about the music on the radio. I have to admit it is more fun for me to go to the clubs to hear the music I like. I find not much of the new music appeals to me on the radio, and there are only so many times I want to hear: Sweet Home Alabama, Freebies, Stairway to Heaven, Sunshine Of Your Love, etc. The fact I can play the guitar, not about the quality, may have a part of my thinking. Though I know we now see in part and know in part. Like I wish at times Reporters got the facts correct than giving their opinions about stories. Also like when Chris Matthew’s of MSNBC has a guest and talks over them and interrupts them. I want to hear the guest not Chris Matthew. Problem is when News is more about Entertainment and Ratings.

JOHNNY CASH [Hurt – 2005] What have I become, my sweetest friend? Everyone I know goes away in the end.

Jim Rose and Suzie
Houston, Texas – Laus Deo
