We Had Known For Sometime As He Had Given Us Plenty Of Warning
Every now and then all radio stations have to have something happen that leaves a sad note and a big vacuum in the station, well this happened to our small station just over a week ago. Our Breakfast Show Host decided to retire after getting up in the wee hours 4am and starting up the station from the nightwatch computer and going live at five thirty with his extremely popular show Monday to Friday.
We had known for sometime as he had given us plenty of warning. But as happens time moves around fast and next thing you know its time for goodbyes all around. The local news papers got involved with write ups and photos, plus the Mayor came in on his last shift to thank him on behalf of the town for his dedication and for bringing so much early morning joy to the town.
As we are all volunteers like most small stations we will be very hard pressed to fill his shoes at that hour of the day. So to all volunteer DJ’s I being one wish you all the very best while you continue to entertain your listeners.
