Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani “Trump Is The Better Hope For America”!
A comparison to Barack Obama doesn’t sound like something a Republican presidential candidate would welcome, but that’s what former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani did when he compared presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to the “hope” of Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani spoke Sunday on New York AM 970’s “The Cats Roundtable” on presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
“He’s a real hope for us that our politics can really change,” Giuliani told host John Catsimatidis about Trump. “He’s a deal maker. I know that somehow people think that means compromising your principles. I think that means accomplishing your principles.”
“I think all the skills that you learn in business can easily be applied to government.” Giuliani added. “I believe he’s the better hope for America.”
“We kind of got fooled last time. I think this time we have a man who’s going to be different, a different kind of president — not from the political background.”
Giuliani’s observation is something that likely drove many Republicans to the polls after so many disappointing losses to establishment Republicans. While Trump’s campaign demeanor is nothing like Obama’s was, his ability to capture the interest of an American public desperate for change is similar.
