Tradition Lives, his first disc of all-new material since 2010, was produced by Jimmy Ritchey — someone that Chesnutt says is a crucial part of his sound, having worked with him for years. “He and I hooked up at a time when not a lot of people had a lot of faith in me anymore because I stayed ‘country’ when the industry was going the other way. I needed somebody like Jimmy who really believed in my kind of country music,” said Chesnutt.
Tradition Lives includes 12 new Chesnutt tracks, each with the pure honky-tonk sounds that have helped to make him one of the most revered and respected artists in the business. The album also includes a tribute to the late Merle Haggard and famed songwriter, Red Lane, “There Won’t Be Another Now.”
“A few years back, Jimmy Ritchey and I were at his home studio at about 2 a.m. talking about The Hag and his influence on us, and we thought it would be nice to add this song to the album as a tribute to him and to Red Lane. It’s just me with Jimmy on guitar. I hope fans enjoy it,” said Chesnutt.
Chesnutt continues to be a touring favorite, with close to 175 dates on his calendar – which is booked well into the latter part of 2016.

Mercury Nashville recording artist Easton Corbin’s new single “Are You With Me,” from his No. 1 selling album About To Get Real, will go for official radio adds Today “Are You With Me” is the follow-up to “Yup” and his Top 5 hit “Baby Be My Love Song.” The single is already making an impact on the digital tracks chart as “Are You With Me” has increased in sales for four consecutive weeks, up 985% during that time. Billboard talked to Corbin about “Are You With Me” in this week’s “Makin’ Tracks.”
“Are You With Me,” written by Tommy Lee James, Terry McBride and Shane McAnally, first appeared on Corbin’s second studio album All Over The Road but was never released as a radio single. “‘Are You With Me’ is a really special song on my last record, All Over the Road. It means so much to me that we just had to include it on About to Get Real,” says Corbin.
“It’s one of those songs that deserves to be a single and we are so excited it is finally getting that chance.” Eastern
“Are You With Me” has a unique history since it appeared on Corbin’s All Over The Road album in 2012. In 2015, Belgian DJ and record producer Los Frequencies found the song and remixed it as an electronic dance song and it went on to become a worldwide hit – reaching No. 1 on the charts in not only Belgium but also topped the charts in Germany, Ireland, Israel, Greece, Switzerland, Australia and Austria and was a Top 5 hit in Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Netherlands among others.
About To Get Real, produced by Carson Chamberlain, features 12 tracks including three co-written by Corbin. The 18 decker boasts several amenities including more than 2‚700 cabins‚ over 100 restaurants‚ a 30 meter drop dry slide
Longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall‚ boasting 23 swimming pools and a signature restaurant that specializes in “imaginative cuisine”‚ the “floating city” is a befitting name for the Harmony of the Seas. Embarking on its maiden voyage on Sunday from Southampton to Barcelona‚ sea travelers are in for a treat on board the Royal Caribbean’s behemoth it would seem. It took over 10 million hours for a team of 2‚500 workers to build the megaship. But the most whopping figure of all is the cost it took to make the liner – R10 billion‚ making it the fourth most expensive cruise liner in the world.
The cruise liner is nearly 362m long and its gross tonnage is over 200‚000‚ four times greater than that of the Titanic. With space not being an issue‚ the ship can host seven “neighbourhoods”‚ each adding a different experience for holiday revelers. Missing the feeling of land? The ship has a park that hosts over 10‚000 plants and 52 trees on board.
The 18 decker boasts several amenities including more than 2‚700 cabins‚ over 100 restaurants‚ a 30 meter drop dry slide – the longest of its kind at sea. The bars have robots for bartenders that mix and serve your drinks‚ surf simulators for those looking to connect with the waves and of course the mark of all cruise ships – casinos.
“Harmony of the Seas is redefining vacations and intriguing a new generation of travellers with a bold and unexpected line-up of first at sea innovations‚ while enticing them to explore the world from a new perspective‚” said Michael Bayley‚ President and CEO‚ Royal Caribbean International in a press release. “From thrilling on-board activities and experiences to visiting awe-inspiring destinations across the Mediterranean and the Caribbean‚ Harmony places guests at the forefront and encourages them to create their own adventures on board and at every destination‚” said Bayley.
A seven night cruise in the Mediterranean leaving from Barcelona will cost you close to R16‚000 South African.
“We all need each other,” said a 32 year-old nurse name Diabate. She walked two miles in freezing temperatures, through 26 inches of snow, to her job as a nurse at a nursing home in the Bronx. Diabate said, “One day I will be a patient, and then I will have to lean on someone.” She was the only nurse that showed up for work that day because she had such a love for her patients. She treats them as if they were family. In Philippians Chapter 2, we read we should value others above ourselves. We should look at the interests of others, rather than our own interests. Being joined with Christ should give us encouragement, comfort from his love, and it should teach us compassion for others. God became a servant on earth, and he showed us love, encouragement, and compassion for others. He showed us how to live a Christian life. We are in this life together. We need to care for and lift up one another. That might mean walking two miles through waist high snow to take care of those who need help, or being an ear to hear, or someone to share joys with, or being someone to lean on. We all need somebody to lean on, and we need to be that somebody for others.
Prayer Heavenly Father,
Your grace and love gives us comfort, and teaches us to have compassion for others.
Help us to be somebody for others to lean on. Help us to value others over ourselves, and have the same mindset as You
