Tickets Are Selling Fast for Dolly Parton’s Pure & Simple Tour
Tickets are selling fast for Dolly Parton’s ‘Pure & Simple Tour,’ her largest North American tour in more than 25 years. Many shows have limited tickets available and additional dates have been added through November.
“Wow, I’m flattered folks want to check out my big ticket tour! I’m so honored the fans are spending their hard-earned money just to come see our show. It sure means a lot and I can’t wait to get out there on the road and see them too,” Parton said.
Parton’s set list will include the hits her fans love along with a few new songs from her forthcoming Pure & Simple album set for release this summer. She will also be playing songs that have not been heard live for decades.
The iconic performer, entrepreneur and entertainment mogul will not only be touring the country, but she’s also executive producing “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.” Coming off the phenomenal performance of last year’s holiday special and looking to recapture the enthusiasm of the nearly 16 million viewers who tuned in, Parton is teaming up with Pamela K. Long and Sam Haskell as executive producers on the NBC film. The original cast will return for the sequel: Jennifer Nettles as Avie Lee Parton, Ricky Schroder as Robert Lee Parton, Gerald McRaney as Rev. Jake Owens and Alyvia Alyn Lind as young Dolly Parton.
Until then, fans will have a chance to hear Parton’s stories behind her hits like “Coat of Many Colors” during her ‘Pure & Simple Tour.’

Outrage over all-white brigade of models walking to “Formation”
This week fashion brand Misha Collection angered the public when it sent a troupe of all-white models down the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia ramp, while Beyoncé’s “Formation” – hailed as a “fiery black power only anthem ? ” – played.
Liberal Views White Dancers = Racists
Leading the homogenous pack was ‘It’ model Bella Hadid, sister of Gigi Hadid. The young emerging model was apparently paid upwards of $400 K according to the Mail Online to walk this single show.
There is no doubt that from the casting to the finale walk, this show failed miserably. Not only in terms of diversity but also in the designer, Michelle Aznavorian’s utter lack of judgement when she appropriated a song that was not meant for her whitewashed show.
Liberal Views Black Dancer = Not Racist
Taking a black power song and using it for your own short-sighted means is downright insensitive. It’s also a blatant form of cultural appropriation. By using “Formation” in this show, this particular show so devoid of women of colour, the designer basically gave black women the finger. She clearly has no idea about the significance of this song for black women around the world and she doesn’t recognise that this is a cultural thing.
Valentino incited outrage with their pre-fall 2015 lookbook when styling a predominantly white cast of models in cornrows. Dolce and Gabbana has been a culprit for many years; their most recent error in judgment came in the form of the “slave sandal”, sold online. More than 10 recent fashion shows didn’t feature any models of colour – these included renowned designers like David Koma, Anrealage, Ann Demeulemeester, Noir Kei Ninomiya, Undercover, Junya Watanabe, Veronique Branquinho, Vetements, Balenciaga and Commes des Garçons. These catwalks were so white it was like staring directly into the sun. And the list goes on…
Unfortunately, the disrespect, cultural appropriation and blatant lack of diversity persist. In many cases I believe it’s a form of laziness that is ultimately very racist; with white models being all the more prevalent, they go for the easy casting option. That’s why we need to demand that change happens on every level.

You Can Break the Cycle – Part 5
He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes.
He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”
Jesus told this blind man to go to the pool of Siloam and wash the dirt from his eyes. So here’s the question: What do you need to remove from your life today in order to see what God wants you to see and do what He wants you to do? Whether it’s a destructive habit, a toxic relationship, or a bad attitude, you must get rid of it. James writes: ‘Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded’ (James 4:7-8). God will do His part, but you must do yours. God will extend grace to you, but you must act on it. It’s said that the water which flowed into the pool of Siloam came from under the temple and was used to wash the utensils which were part of worship and sacrifice. In other words, this water didn’t come from a man-made source, but from the presence of God. Don’t miss the point here! Jesus said, ‘Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you’ (John 15:3). Paul speaks of ‘…the washing of water by the word’ (Ephesians 5:26). The Psalmist writes, ‘How can a young man (or an older one) cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word’ (Psalms 119:9). The secret of victorious Christian living is bathing your mind each day in the Scriptures. Picture yourself taking a bath in God’s Word and the dirt and grime coming off you. That’s what meditating on the Scriptures does for you.
Prayer Heavenly Father,
help me to remove things in my life that keep me from seeing what You want for me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
