Facebook launched live video streaming earlier this month & this event will feature the world’s most recognized personalities
Dolly’s Homecoming Parade, Pigeon Forge’s annual salute to hometown superstar Dolly Parton, regularly attracts tens of thousands of spectators, but this year’s potential audience could be exponentially larger because it will be one of the first live stream feeds presented on Facebook.
Dolly will lead the parade atop a float themed for her new theater in Pigeon Forge, Dolly Parton’s Lumberjack Adventure Dinner & Show , and the live stream will chronicle the entire event.
The parade steps off at 6 p.m. on May 6 (Friday) on a route that covers three miles of the famous Parkway through the heart of Pigeon Forge. The live stream will be from Dolly’s float and will show Dolly, the crowds along the Parkway, and views of the city and the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains.
This will be the 31 st presentation of Dolly’s Homecoming Parade and the first time it will be streamed live on the Internet.
The stream will be on Dolly Parton’s Facebook page and Dolly Parton’s Lumberjack Adventure Dinner & Show Facebook page. Streaming information is at LumberjackAdventure.com andDollyParton.com.
Every year, the parade adds a Norman Rockwell atmosphere to Pigeon Forge, a gateway city to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It features high school marching bands, equestrian units, veterans’ groups, twirlers, antique tractors and much more. There are 125 groups in the 2016 parade.
This year’s high school bands are from Sevier County High School (Dolly was a member in her high school days), Pigeon Forge High School, Fyffe High School from Fyffe, Alabama, and Cheatham County Central High School from Ashland City, Tennessee.

During the first two weeks of May, the ACM and CMT Award winner will hold book signings at bookstores and venues in 14 cities.
Singer, songwriter, and now, author Scotty McCreery will release his first book, Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream, and launch his book signing tour on Tuesday, May 3. The book signing tour will begin in Ridgewood, New Jersey on release day and end in his hometown of Garner, North Carolina on May 14. See the bottom of this release for dates, locations and times.
McCreery envisions the book as a travelogue and takes the reader on a journey through his life, sharing stories such as his life-altering discovery of Elvis Presley at age five, auditioning for and ultimately winning “American Idol” season 10, and embarking on the country music career he had always dreamed about. He also reveals how he had to grow up quickly when he was thrust into the adult world at age 17, the way he balanced his senior year of high school and college experience with his active recording and touring career, and how he put life into perspective after being robbed at gunpoint. Throughout the book, he writes of how his faith, family and friends have kept him grounded and normal in the midst of a life in the entertainment business.
On May 3, McCreery will perform live on NBC’s “Today” during the 10-11:00 AM hour. The next day, May 4, the country music sensation will be interviewed live on “FOX & Friends” on the FOX News Channel. That same day, New York City-area viewers can also watch him being interviewed on WNYW-TV’s “Good Day New York.”
Before the book signing tour begins, McCreery will be featured on the cover of American Profilethis weekend. The national weekly magazine will circulate within community newspapers nationwide between April 29-May 3. In addition, the man recently named “Country Music’s Hottest Bachelor” will be a presenter on FOX’s “American Country Countdown Awards” on Sunday, May 1.
*The book tour ends in McCreery’s hometown of Garner, NC on May 14 (“Scotty McCreery Day”). This event will be held on the campus of the church where he is a member. Quail Ridge bookstore will sell books for McCreery to sign, and he will be doing a Q&A and performing a brief acoustic set.
Go Big or Go Home narrates McCreery’s journey from a kid imitating Elvis on the school bus to 30 million across America tuning in to see him win season ten of “American Idol” to building a successful country music career. McCreery shares a glimpse of where he came from and the impact his faith, family and friends have had on a humble guy who keeps asking “why me?” This is his journey from his North Carolina roots to winning America’s most popular singing competition and moving on to launch the musical career he had always dreamed about.

Many people’s minds gravitate toward worries, work, plans, food, pleasure seeking. Some of these thoughts are useful, while others are not. Most people are not very aware of their thoughts during their down times, but I am quite aware of them. I want you to train your mind to turn toward Me more and more. Think about who I am-Creator, Savior, King of kings. Ponder also My amazing, unending Love for you.
Training your mind to make Me your default Focus is not easy. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you in this challenging endeavor, and He will. However, you must be prepared to cooperate with Him. You need to spend some time in quietness-away from the television, the radio, and other distracting noise. Communicate with Me frequently throughout the day. Using a short prayer such as, Jesus, draw me close to You, can help you return your focus to Me time after time. Also, it is vital to saturate your mind with Scripture, which is all about Me. As you practice these disciplines, you will gradually be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? -Psalm 8:3-4
Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. -Psalm 119:11 nkjv
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. -Romans 12:2
Listen, I tell you a mystery We will not all sleep but we will all be changed-in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable and we will be changed.
