LEN HART [former KILT-610/KENR-1070/KNUS FM newscaster] (Geneva, Switzerland) Jim, Hope this helps… I wish I had kept a diary but –alas –I did not. There was enough action, characters and national figures to write tons of books about. On my blog I have a short list of some of the celeb/world figure interviews I did. A short list includes George H.W. Bush (seems like I was always sticking a mic in his face), Nelson Rockefeller, Milton Friedman, Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon (I was in Jones Hall when Dan Rather and Nixon exchanged barbs. Your friend, Len

My 50th high school reunion from Woodrow in Dallas is the end of May. TRIVIA ANSWER: Dallas, TX native DJ, Pop hit producer Tommy [Snuff] Garrett who gets to know Buddy Holly as a DJ in Lubbock, TX dies of cancer at 77 on December 16, 2015. Garrett also is in radio in Wichita Falls, TX. In 1959, Garrett becomes a producer at Liberty Records in Hollywood. Garrett’s roster of talent includes Bobby Vee, Johnny Burnette, Gene McDaniels, Buddy Knox, Walter Brennan, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, Del Shannon and Sonny & Cher. He gets his nickname Snuff from Garrett brand of snuff.

LESLIE WAYNE HODGES [formerly KCRS-550] (Marshall, TX) Subject: Lone Ranger Tonto Jeno’s Pizza Roles, Shillin’ With the Lone Ranger: Jeno’s Pizza Rolls (1960’s). The late humorist Stan Freberg directed this wacky clip for Jeno’s Pizza Rolls, featuring the Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore) and Tonto (Jay Silverheels), which in turn was a parody of a similar ad campaign the William Morris agency was doing for Lark cigarettes. The music is to the beat of—what else?—the William Tell Overture, the Ranger’s theme song. (http://www.thelandofwhatever.blogspot.com/2015/06/shillin-with-lone-ranger-for-jenos.html) Today, Jeno’s is part of the Totino’s division of General Mills, but they don’t get the same kind of advertising exposure as they once did.
