Asked if deal was designed to avoid taxes Pfizer CEO Ian Read said company executives’ obligation is to shareholders and patients
The deal will enable the combined company to pour around $9 billion a year into research on new treatments, Read said in an interview. That includes work on cures for Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, cancer and other difficult-to-treat illnesses. It costs upwards of $1.5 billion to get a new drug approved.
“The impact for patients is great, both short term and long term,” said Read, who will be chairman and CEO of the combined company, to be called Pfizer Plc.
If Patients worldwide suffering from incurable decease’s cannot afford treatment then what is the use of drug companies raising their prices even higher to find a cure that would be out of reach and totally unaffordable to the anyone below the super rich class anyway.
“Who will gain from the cures when we are already paying exorbitant prices for simply dealing with the common cold”
Everyone has to be overcharged so that only some can take advantage of medicine that will cure you if you have the money? In a world where money and power is not the number one goal a merger as this would have been good news to consumers as it would have reduced the prices of medicine to all and not been solely to satisfy company shareholders and owners.

Clay Walker performs “Right Now” live at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, on October 9, 2015. Working with Shane (Minor) and Wade (Kirby), who are not only tremendous musicians, but great friends, was really inspiring,” said Walker. “Shane thought that we should write something that would showcase what he calls ‘the bluesy feel of my voice,’ so he thought to call in Wade. What we came away with was, for me, ‘soulful magic’ – a song that’s for everyone that has let themselves be vulnerable to the possibility of love.” © ℗ 2015 Grand Ole Opry, LLC
The Music City Ghost [File #90] 2015: I am sure I am not the only one who see’s websites begging for donations to keep them going. The websites I am talking about usually portray themselves as very successful and much larger than they really are. Many times on these same websites you will find numerous typos and poor grammar. Now here is where the difference lies with a successful company verses one pretending to be what they are not. Simply visit a very well known trade mark site and one that is truly successful and you will discover the webmaster knows how to use spell check. There are no pleas for donations to keep them going. On the other hand the websites I am talking about that are struggling to keep the doors open can be a radio station, a publicity firm, a promotion company all the way down to someone selling his invention. They rely on donations just to be able to pay the bills and yet they want you to join them and their efforts. Begging for financial help and threatening to quit their services if you don’t donate to them, is not a company I wish to be involved with. I want to surround myself with successful people and not losers.

With an intensity you can’t imagine unless you’ve heard the midnight cry! The fact that you’ve worked hard all day and are tired, or that you fed the baby just an hour earlier, doesn’t matter. An infant’s agenda is about as focused and uncluttered as you can get. He or she wants to eat—right now! When was the last time your spiritual stomach growled so much at midnight that you just had to get up and feed your soul on God’s Word? Here’s how Peter addressed the issue: ‘Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious’ (vv. 1-3). Note the words ‘if…you have tasted’. When you’ve tasted the real thing you can’t get by on junk food. Your spiritual taste buds won’t let you. Note, not only can you not ignore a baby’s hunger; you can’t fool their sense of taste. When you start mixing stuff into their formula that wasn’t meant to be there, their taste buds and stomach will reject it. Have you ever heard the phrase ‘projectile vomiting’? Junk food is designed to fill a need with a quick fix that may satisfy you for a while, but it doesn’t provide any real nourishment. You can tell when you’re spiritually malnourished and underdeveloped. Peter says the symptoms are malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and evil speaking. So open your Bible today and pray, ‘Lord, give me a hunger for Your Word.’
