The Wildhorse Top 20 Request Chart has come about due to the enormous demand by listeners and artists who wanted to know if their songs and favorites could be included on our Charts. As you all know the IDSS Country Download chart only features songs by artists that are available as free downloads on Wildhorse Entertainment. Therefore we could and would not add any requested songs that are not free downloads to that Top 30 countdown. So that is how this TOP 20 was born or as some would say created.
On our front page of WHISNews21 you will find a place to request your songs for the request Top20. Every single song on this Top20 was requested many times during the month of May 2015 by you the readers and visitors of WHISNews21.
If your song was not featured here this month you need to get all your fans friends and family to visit this page and start requesting your favorite song for this special Wildhorse Chart Show. Even though many took advantage of this special opportunity many have not. So the old saying of ‘You Snooze You Loose” is very obvious on this Top 20.
If your fans friends or family voted for your song or any other artists country song it would have been featured, the ball is in your court don’t loose this opportunity to be featured on this special one of a kind chart.
Some artists, promoters and most music people quite correctly say Charts are a dime a dozen, and they are so very right. However even if charts are a dime a dozen the only chart that is important to you would be the one you are featured on.
Here is your chance every vote counts here, so if you don’t play you wont win.
Well the June 2015 chart is here and we hope that you all enjoy reading it and receiving it, please be aware that it is more work for us but as long as the requests come through we will keep this chart alive for y’all – Wildhorse Entertainment Home of the Independent Superstars.

Gary Allan’s life changed drastically on Oct. 25, 2004, the day the singer’s wife of three years, Angela Herzberg, committed suicide. Angela was 36 years old when she shot herself. Allan and the kids were all home, and it took the singer much time to deal with the grief, which even meant taking time away from music and writing songs. Eventually, he learned that music was therapeutic for him.
“Families are like Fudge – mostly sweetly, with lots of NUTS!!”
Let this promise of My watch-care comfort you-especially during difficult days. This promise is for you because you love Me. Of course, it is not a matter of earning My protection by loving Me. However, those who belong to Me-and are under My watchful care-are the ones who love Me. This is a response to what I have done: You love Me because I first loved you.
In times of extreme danger and destruction, even courageous adults sometimes cry out for their parents’ help. This is an instinctive response, flowing out of childhood memories. When people are afraid, they long to feel protected by someone who is bigger and stronger. Be assured that I am always watching over you-like a shepherd watching over his flock. Sometimes you may feel alone and unprotected. The remedy is to trust that I am with you and to start communicating with Me-pouring out your heart. Expressing yourself freely to Me will help you become aware of My watchful, loving Presence.
The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. -Psalm 145:20
“We love Him because He first loved us. -1 John 4:19 nkjv”
Hear the word of the Lord, O nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd. -Jeremiah 31:10

But how can we forget Van Patten in these Mel Brooks films: King Roland in Spaceballs, the Abbot in Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Dr. Wentworth in High Anxiety? In 1928 he is born in Kew Gardens, Queens, New York. Van Patten writes in his autobiography Eighty Is Not Enough that he’s comfortable with his friendly-fellow image. Dick Van Patten dies of diabetes at 86 on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Santa Monica, CA.

BILL CONWAY [Former PD/OM Entercom KOIT FM] (San Diego, CA) Subject: Bob Morrison. Jim, I was a young broadcaster at WFAA 1970-72 and learned a ton about radio news in the big old newsroom/bullpen from Dave Cooke and Bob (Morrison). I saw him for the last time when the NAB Radio show in Big D and my mentor Bill Mercer stopped by. I saw him and Bob chatting. Great to see him. I know you do quotations each post and I don’t know if it is appropriate but I always recall him saying, “Up your giggy with a meat hook.” Bill Conway

DANNY MACK MCWILLIAMS [GM KRNH FM Country (The Ranch 92.3)] (Kerrville, TX) Subject: Ed Stern. Jim, I was touched to see Ed Stern listed on your birthday list. I still miss him every day since he passed a couple of years ago. He became my second father when we worked together from 1987-1992 in Uvalde at KVOU/KYUF Radio. When my real father passed Ed reminded me that I still had one, which was comforting. The most interesting thing about our relationship is the fact that we shared the same birthday, June 24th. You can bet we had many a great party to celebrate. I am out of radio, now, working for the Salvation Army and loving life, but your columns keep me up to date with my old friends. Have a wonderful summer. “Danny Mack” McWilliams Kerrville, TX

PHIL ROBBINS [KEEZ FM, KVIC FM, KAYC-1450, KZEU FM, KKBH FM, KNAL FM] (Victoria, TX) Hi Jim, I saw my first control room, dj, and I said “I wanna do that!”. It was Don Couser and George the Duck on-air, playing Gerry & the Pacemakers. I’ll never forget it. In later years I answered the request line for Ron Houston aka Fred Jones, Saturday nights on K-BAT when they went Top 40. Nicest man I ever met. In 1969 I started college at San Antonio College Radio/TV/Film and of all people to have as an instructor was Don Couser. When I told him he was my inspiration back in 1964 he started to tear up, so did I. Don Couser, Jeff Hinger, and Jean Longwith, all great instructors at SAC. Phil Robbins

In 1986, George Strait and his wife, Norma, lost their first child. Jenifer Strait, born Oct. 6, 1972, was killed in a one-car accident in San Marcos, Texas. She was 13 at the time of her death, but Strait didn’t allow the tragedy to happen in vain. Instead, he created the Jenifer Lynn Strait Foundation, an organization that still donates money to San Antonio children’s charities.
When King Saul disobeyed God, the prophet Samuel told him, ‘When you were little in your own eyes…did not the Lord anoint you King over Israel?…Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord?’ (vv. 17-19). There’s a sobering lesson here. The most dangerous moment in your life is when you think you can succeed without God. When you get a few wins under your belt, it’s easy to forget Who’s responsible for your success. Where once you would have consulted God, you now launch out on your own and ask Him to add His blessing to your decisions. You say, ‘But things are going pretty well for me these days.’ Then remember Who made your success possible, and live with gratitude and dependence on God! Looking back on how God blessed Israel, the Psalmist records, ‘Then they believed His words; they sang His praise. [But] they soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel’ (Psalms 106:12-13). Our capacity for forgetfulness is staggering. The old-timers used to tie a string around their finger to remind them of something they might easily forget. Maybe you need to wear a string on your finger to remind you that God is the secret, the source of all your blessings. Frustrated by how long he had to wait in line to renew his driver’s license, the CEO of a big plumbing company asked his wife, ‘Don’t they know who I am?’ She responded, ‘Yes, you’re a plumber’s son who got lucky.’ The word for today is: stay humble, and don’t get too big for your boots!
Heavenly Father, forgive me when I think that success is something that I caused
and forget that it was YOU all the time that blessed me and helped me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
The network has announced that the popular show, which is set amidst the wheelings and dealings of the country music business in Music City, will return for its fourth season on Sept. 23, with new episodes slated to begin filming later this summer in the show’s namesake city.
According to Nashville’s The Tennessean newspaper, a $10 million incentive package pulled from both public and private funding will keep the show, which has been enormously beneficial to both tourism and the local film industry, filming in Nashville for its upcoming season. That number includes $8 million from Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam’s state budget, $875,000 from Nashville’s Metro budget and $437,500 from the city’s event marketing fund. The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. will contribute $437,500, and Ryman Hospitality Properties will give $250,000.
Metro has earmarked a total of $500,000 for Nashville’s production from its new operating budget, which means Nashville’s Metro Council will have to approve an additional $375,000 appropriation.
Now that a fourth season has been confirmed, there will also be enough episodes for the show to air in syndication. AXS TV has acquired the exclusive rights to air past seasons in syndication.
“Nashville is the perfect complement to our growing lineup of music-inspired series,” AXS TV CEO Mark Cuban says. “With its talented cast, dramatic storylines and powerful performances from industry icons and rising stars, we are confident that Nashville will connect with our viewers, while attracting a new audience of those who may have missed out on watching from the beginning of the series. This will also be a great opportunity for its devoted fan base to experience Nashville all over again.”
