Just Stopping By to Ask Why Y’all Have Forgotten Us?

CountryStars001Just Stopping By to Ask Why Y’all Have Forgotten Us?

You know we were playing music way before most of you were even born. Yes we lived Country Music and helped to lay down the foundation for the future of Country Music all our lives. We did this with pride and honor in the hope that we will be remembered by all Country Music fans for ever and ever. Yet as we all sit here on this old black and white picture we feel a terrible sense of sadness that we may have given our all for nothing.

Now we know and appreciate that there are still real country fans that will carry us on their shoulders and we thank them from the bottom our hearts. However we do hear the rumble from Music city as the new kids on the block are changing Country music and saying that you should all get used to it and stop complaining. Now that is maybe because the world in general has decided to ditch all morals and to shuffle our Country Music out the back door, thus opening the front door to screaming guitars and rock and rap filled Country songs .

The truth is we cannot do much about it anymore as we are in a better place and have to trust that somehow there will remain a following for our traditional country music and that we will not be forgotten all together by all.

So as we go back to our happy place we want y’all to take a minute and think about the this, if we never ever even existed and if we never spend our lives building a strong foundation for Country Music, would there even have been a thing called Country Music and would your lives have been better of worse without the Country legends most can so easily forget ?

Are we So Easy To Forget ?

Ice Storm Warning for Central Tennessee

Ice Storm Warning for all of Mid Tennessee through early Tuesday morning for hazardous travel conditions due to ice.

The storm that was impacting Mid Tennessee on Monday produced widespread significant ice amounts. The effects of this wintry precipitation will continue through the night and into early Tuesday morning, with very hazardous travel conditions across the Mid State. The Ice Storm Warning has been extended for areas south of Interstate 40, and expanded to include areas along and north of Interstate 40 as well. This Ice Storm Warning serves to raise awareness of significant travel and commerce dangers.

Grand Ole Opry On Ice

Grand Ole Opry On Ice

Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 am CST Tuesday.

  • Timing: through early Tuesday morning.
  • Accumulations: Ice has already collected on roads, trees and power lines across Middle Tennessee. Many surfaces have over one half-inch of ice.
  • Main impact: ice and snow will cause hazardous travel conditions. Roads will turn to a sheet of ice overnight as temperatures plummet into the teens.
  • Other impacts: The weight of ice on trees and power lines is likely to bring down some limbs. Scattered power outages are likely.

An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations will make travel dangerous or impossible. Travel is strongly discouraged. Commerce will likely be severely impacted. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Snapped power lines and falling tree branches will add to the danger.

What is True Godliness?

Stephen Davey

Truth is, those who abide by the law will often be viewed by men as the “godly” ones. It happened in Jesus‘ day with the Pharisees and Sadducees; they deceived men, as well as themselves, into thinking that their own good works were enough to make them righteous before a Holy God. They fully expected God to shower them with gift certificates to the bazaar!

Although it is important to obey the law, it isn’t the real test of godliness. Actually, it’s possible for you to keep the speed limit and still be an ungodly person. It’s possible to stop at all the stop signs, hold the door for women, chew with your mouth closed, clock-in to work five minutes early every morning, and perform good deeds galore—and still be completely unholy in your heart.

Although everyone may sing your praises, the question is: what does God see when He looks at your heart?

God reminded Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:7 that man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Even today, God is the only one who sees past the gimmicks—the facade, the clothes, the make-up—directly into the heart of every person.

The encouragement of this truth rests in the fact that, because God sees the secret intents and motives of every person’s heart, He actually does reward those who keep their hearts pure. Though the world may often get it wrong and may praise deceptive people, God never will.

The world rewards people of influence; God rewards people of integrity . . . and our reward is just ahead.
