BILL GARDNER [ex KVIL Dallas, K-101 FM San Francisco & WFYR FM Chicago] (Las Vegas, NV) Hi Jim… First saw “JRRR” via a good friend of mine for years, Bruce “Jim Edwards” Buchanan who showed me your newsletter about a year ago. I believe he said he worked with you in either Ft. Worth or Houston, before he and I worked together at KVIL Dallas, “Class FM” San Antonio, and stations in San Diego and Salt Lake City. I tried signing up for JRRR, but didn’t have much luck with my ancient AOL and their e-mail, so I see your publication by a link, jimroseremembersradio.com that I access a couple times a week. If you can sign me up, cool. I enjoy your thoughts and publication! Bill Gardner; Las Vegas NV (www.billgardnerontheradio.com)

I’m in good health and I’m the happiest guy in the world to be married to my “bride” of 40 years (this coming August 2nd). Both of us thank God every day for giving us another happy day on this planet. All the best to you. Keep up the good work Jim. Best blessings, Wink
TRIVIA ANSWER: Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! In February 1940 The Adventures of Superman with Bud Collyer as the Super hero begins its 11-year run on radio as a syndicated children’s show on New York City’s WOR-710. Bud Collyer becomes one of our favorite major television game hosts of Beat the Clock.
CHARLES GEORGE [KC5RAI – ex KCHU FM] (Dallas, TX) Subject: Radio Days. New Technology creates new ways of exchanging information. Also old methods employed as needed. The FBI spied on Charlie Chaplin, and many other actors and musicians in the past. Like when I hear of the daughter of a singer dying, I think it is a shame that she could not be left alone, not like she was running for an office. Free Speech versus a Free Press has been around for the longest time. Like some person calling some one a Liberal when they are not Liberal at all, but when you have Big Money backing you don’t worry about what you say about others and the results. Last Sunday I heard Ronda Ray at Adairs. She puts on a good show of Country/Pop and according to her web site has a CD to be released. I am not a big fan of Country Music but would recommend hearing her if you and others have a chance. Charles George
FRED ALLEN (May 31, 1894 – March 17, 1956) I always have trouble remembering three things: faces, names, and – I can’t remember what the third thing is.
