Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical, a new musical comedy lovingly (and loosely) inspired by the classic TV series, will get the Broadway treatment when it has its eagerly awaited World Premiere this fall at Dallas Theater Center. The musical, which had a much-buzzed-about industry reading in September, features a score by multi-Award winning artists Brandy Clark (a 2015 Grammy Award nominee for Best New Artist) and Shane McAnally, two of country music’s hottest new singer/songwriters. With a book by Robert Horn, direction by Gary Griffin and choreography by Denis Jones and musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Tony and Grammy Award-winner Stephen Oremus, Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical begins performances at Dallas Center Theatre on September 2, 2015, where it runs through October 11, 2015.
Hilarious and downright irreverent, Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical distills the spirit of an iconic television series and bottles it into an original musical comedy. Set in present day Kornfield Kounty, this highly anticipated show introduces a new generation of irresistible characters as it tells the story of Misty Mae, the ultimate hometown girl, who heads out to follow her dreams in the big city of… Tampa. When she returns home to introduce her slick city-boy beau to her friends and family, everything goes haywire!
“We both grew up watching ‘Hee Haw,’ so it’s thrilling that we get to make our musical theater writing debut using source material that really shaped and defined so much in terms of the history of country music,” composers Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally commented. “We’re loving the collaborative process of writing for the theater too, and can’t wait to get the show in front of audiences!”
Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical will be produced by Opry Entertainment (Steve Buchanan, Sally Williams) and Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson), in conjunction with Dallas Theater Center. The design includes Tony Award-winner John Lee Beatty (Scenic Design), Mara Blumenfeld (Costume Design) and Tara Rubin (Casting). Nina Lannan serves as Executive Producer.
Subscriptions for the complete Dallas Theater Center season (including Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical) go on sale February 9, 2015 and will be available starting at $126. Subscriptions can be purchased online at http://www.DallasTheaterCenter.org or by calling the AT&T Performing Arts Center Box Office at (214) 880-0202. Martina McBride fans are in for a treat! Her current tour has been extended through summer of 2015 due to high demand from fans
“The band and I are having so much fun on this Everlasting tour,” McBride says in a press release. “I really wanted to put together a show that is as visually entertaining as it is musically entertaining.” The tour got its moniker from McBride’s latest album, Everlasting, which was released in 2014. Everlasting is McBride’s 12th album, and it features covers of soul and R&B classics. The tour includes a full horn section and a roster of backup singers and dancers.
“The addition of the horn section and singers adds so much energy to what we do,” McBride notes. “We are enjoying the fresh take on our hits of the last 20 plus years as well as being able to play so much of the new album because it’s familiar to my fans. I think we are all wishing this tour would last forever!” McBride’s tour will include her staple songs like ‘A Broken Wing’ and ‘This One’s for the Girls,’ as well as covers of soul and R&B songs. Country music fans of all ages will enjoy having the chance to hear the country music icon perform.
The Everlasting tour will resume on Feb. 10 in Midwest City, Okla. Additional stops are scheduled in Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, California and several other states. Visit McBride’s website to learn when the tour will hit a city near you. McBride recently signed a new record deal with Nash Icon Records, a joint venture between Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus.
Lorrie Morgan, one of the leading ladies in country music history, and her friends, have stepped forward to organize a benefit concert for long time industry veteran, friend and comrade in music, Ms. Debbie Ballentine.
With the loving support and strength from family and friends, Ballentine has been bravely fighting her battle with cancer since Fall 2011. After completing various treatments and courses of radiation therapy, results have not been optimum; there is no cure for Ballentine’s condition. The family’s medical bills incurred during her illness are insurmountable.
Lorrie Morgan, Vince Gill, Pam Tillis, Jesse Keith Whitley, Ashlee Hewitt, TG Sheppard, Kelly Lang and Baillie and The Boys will donate their time and talents to support Ballentine at the I AM A WOMAN benefit concert in her honor. The charity event will be held at Silver Dollar Saloon (110 2nd Avenue North, Nashville, TN) on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person; a limited quantity of PRE-SALE TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!
TV personality and Great American Country’s Top 20 Country Countdown’s Nan Kelley will host. More award-winning acts are being added daily (to be announced at a later date).
“This event is special for me; this lady is special to me. She’s been my lifeline for so many years; she knows me like no other,” said Lorrie Morgan. “There is nothing that is fair or good about this horrible disease. It’s so difficult to even think about what she has been going through…while we all must continue on with own lives. Debbie is in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers as she lives day-to-day fighting this silent killer.”
Autographed artist photos and VIP show laminates will be available for purchase at the show. All proceeds from ticket and collectible item sales will be dedicated to support Debbie to assist in alleviating her financial burden while she fights to overcome her poor health. Individuals unable to attend can offer support by visiting her GoFundMe link: www.gofundme.com/iwfwic.

The Lord wants to give each of us a “heart of flesh” so that we will be pliable and responsive to Him.
When touched by the finger of God, a tender heart yields to the pressure and assumes the form He desires, much like a lump of clay that allows the potter to determine the shape of the vessel.
To aid in this process, God has sent the Holy Spirit to indwell each believer and awaken responsiveness in him or her. By yielding to the Spirit’s promptings with ready obedience, the heart becomes increasingly tender and sensitive to His leading. The Lord is able to impart greater understanding of His Word to a soft heart because it has faithfully accepted and obeyed previous teachings.
Any resistance to God will result in hardening. But those who are accustomed to intimacy with Christ—which is the result of submission to Him—will be quick to deal with sin and return to the place of obedience and blessing.
People with tender hearts stay closely connected to the body of Christ, seeking to build up and encourage others in their walk of faith. Such individuals are not only receptive to what God wants to tell them; they are also teachable, in that they are willing to listen and be corrected by others.
