Prayer for the Day

Holy God, you have given me another day. Bring your Holy Spirit into my mind and my life,

So that I may walk this day in your presence. Let me feel your presence throughout the day,

Remembering always that you sent your Spirit that you might be a living force in all I see and all I do.

When I feel temptation or begin to stray, show me your path.

Correct me, comfort me, let me live your will; that I may be happy in this life

And blessed in the life to come. This I pray in the name of Christ, my Lord.

If you have anyone you would like to send a prayer out to please mail them to

CHICAGO THEATER MOURNS LOSS OF TWO The close-knit Windy City theater community is brokenhearted over the loss of two of its troupers. First we lose attractive stage actress Molly Glynn to a freak storm tree. On Saturday ‎morning September ‎6, ‎2014 on his way to a rehearsal at the Theatre at the Center in Munster, IN 50-year-old star of countless musicals in Chicago, Bernie Yvon, dies in a car crash a little after 11 am at Calumet Avenue and Broadmoor Street in Munster. Bernie is in prep for his musical, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which opens next week. William Pullinsi, theater artistic director remembers: We did all kinds of shows together. He had so many friends in the business.
STORM TREE ASSAULTS AND ANNIHILATES ACTRESS Officials tell us that on Friday, ‎September ‎5, ‎2014 during a fast-moving afternoon storm a falling tree thunders like dynamite into longtime Chicago, IL theater actress Molly Glynn while she bicycles with husband fellow theater actor Joe Foust on a north suburban forest preserve trail. Sources say heavy winds blow in and uproot a tree which falls directly onto the path where she rides her bike and torpedoes into her. Molly’s husband quickly dials 911. Around 3:40 pm Cook County Forest Preserve police respond to the call about a tree that strikes the 46-year-old woman. NorthShore Evanston Hospital spokeswoman Colette Urban confirms that Molly Glynn dies at about 1:15 pm Saturday afternoon.
TOO MANY ADS DRIVES AWAY LISTENERS A recent item in Radio Ink states: Is too much advertising killing Talk radio? Inside the industry, we have this debate all the time. How can radio reduce its spot load?Professor of Political Science at Grove City College and author of 11 Principles of a Reagan Conservative, Paul Kengor, suggests that the public turns away from Conservative Talk radio because of too much advertising, not because they are tired of the politics: There can’t be more than 33 minutes of actual program per hour. Why would anyone listen to this? Conservative talk radio is in peril because of conservative greed. There’s simply too much advertising on Conservative talk radio.
TRIVIA QUESTION: What singer reports indicate has the most violent music videos? The answer appears below.

LEN HART [former KILT/KENR/KNUS newscaster] (Geneva, Switzerland) Jim, I was officially “News Director” for KILT-FM; Jim C was –of course –News D for AM which was still the “fair haired boy” : ) Bill Young, of course, knew that FM was the wave of the future. Robert B was inside and broadcast solely on AM at the time. I cannot recall the name of the outside guy at the time. It was “something” Daniels. I think he later went to KTRH. In any case, after about a year, I was offered News Director with KNUS (Dallas). I took it and, for awhile, did the morning news block as Ken Dowe was doing his ‘Granny Emma’ routines during the morning, KNUS was Gordon McLendons new baby. KLIF was AM, old technology. FM was the wave of the future. Carola was happy to get me back to KILT. Your friend, Len

DON SUNDEEN [former KCOH-1430 OM/PD/DJ-Hi Records promotion-TV ad prod] (Dallas, TX) Ron Chapman was Mr. KVIL, and no one else could really challenge that. Mike did afternoons and was quite successful, participated in the famous ‘Around the World’ race with Ron going one way and Mike the other, but he was basically a hip rock jock and KVIL’s target was the 35 year old housewife. I don’t know if you remember this, but at one time at KLIF, the(y) had the FM in a closet in the hall playing ‘underground music.’ Selden would do a show on both stations and refer to himself as “Mike Selden, AM&FM.”

CHARLES GEORGE [ex KCHU FM] (Dallas, TX) Hi, I remember in 1980 or so NPR tried to get rid of all the low powered stations running less than 100 KW and those that were on the air less than 12 Hours a day. They implied anything less was a sandbox and a waste of air space and should be allocated to those with more resources. Lorenzo Milam when he was at KCHU (FM) was against Government or Corporations funding, just thought listeners should sustain the station. I agree, since it can effect programming, censorship whether direct or in-direct. Like new musicians will find it harder to get air play. Charles George, KC5RAI
TRIVIA ANSWER: The National Coalition on Television Violence says that Michael Jackson produces the most violent music videos. Black Or White shows Jackson doing his infamous crotch-rubbing, smashing store windows and destroying a car with a metal crowbar. Jackson’s rampage and crotch grabbing causes controversy with many parents of young children.

Oscar Pistorius Is Found Guilty of Culpable Homicide

ReevaMaritz02Oscar Pistorius Found Guilty Of Culpable Homicide

It is common knowledge in South Africa, that you don’t have to be competent to fill an important position in South Africa. So with that knowledge, we report that the South African court has ruled that Oscar Pistorius is only guilty of Culpable homicide.  Oscar is obviously overwhelmed with joy at this point, his tears will now all dry up, while Reeva’s families lives will never be the same again.

They will never get over the killing of their Daughter as they have been sentenced to a lifetime bitterness and possible anger. Just like the South African government says that the horrendous farm murders are just robberies gone wrong and the world looks the other way, so will this trial be just another horrible situation gone wrong and the world will forget and forgive when the sun rises with a new day.

As for the real victims in this case, the ones who never did anything wrong, they are never the less sentenced to a lifetime of sorrow, with the compliments of an Oscar. The sad truth is that to most people it will be just another story they will forget in the morning, when another one unfolds on their local news station, which will no doubt, captivate them for another day, week or a month. So to will the words of a mother below fade away, and the memory of a young woman who just a little while ago, had the world at her feet.

“It doesn’t matter to me what happens to Oscar because my daughter is never coming back, We just want the truth. We want the truth of what happened. And only she and Oscar were there. And she’s not here anymore,” a somber Steenkamp’s Mother  said on the “Today” show about Reeva

We are so sorry Reeva, you did not deserve to die in a bathroom, no matter what the culpable homicide killer’s intentions were. In the end no matter if the courts are competent or not without courts even in South Africa life will be even worse than it is right now.

English Soccer Player, Barton Rages At Oscar ‘Verdict’

Cape Town – Joey Barton has taken to Twitter to express his shock at the Judge Thokozile Masipa’s finding in the trial of athlete Oscar Pistorius. In a dramatic day in the North Gauteng High Court where the judged ruled out pre-meditated murder in the trial of Oscar Pistorius which seemed to infuriate English soccer player Joey Barton. Barton, never far from controversy, unleashed a tirade of tweets on the trial.

Barton’s tweets on the proceedings in the trial today:

Rhon’s Inspiration Station: One Word From Jesus

Dear Friends Continuation of last Friday’s wonderful writing…

“ONE WORD FROM JESUS”   Part 11   By : Sharon Knots

Over 30 years ago a young American couple, Roland and Heidi Baker, left their safe, middle-class, comfortable life in America and went to Mozambique, one of the poorest nations in Africa.  They now have orphanages   where they feed thousands of children.  But in those early days, there were times when they had gotten down to no food to feed those children.  They only had a little bit, so they prayed over it and began to serve it up, and it multiplies.  This has happened several  times when food was multiplies after prayer (“always enough”  Heidi Baker).

R.G. HardyJesus fed the multitude, and when they had all had eaten, “they were all fed and all filled.”  He not only fed them, but they were satisfied .  And they had twelve baskets left over.  He said, ” Gather  it all that nothing is wasted.”   God doesn’t waste anything.  (Some people wonder why they don’t get blessed; it may be because they waste their blessings.)   Then Jesus told His disciples, “Go get into the boat and go to the other side. ”  They must have objected Mark 6:45 says ” He constrained His disciples.” When you constrain someone, you put pressure on them to compel them.  Why didn’t they want to go”  Maybe they didn’t want  to go without Jesus.  Maybe they wanted to hang  around and see if He was going to do some other miracles.  I don’t know, but He had to say, “I’m going to stay here and dismiss the crowd and you leave now, get in the ship and go over to the other side. ” Why did Jesus do this” The obvious reason is stated in Matt. 14:23. “And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into  the mountain apart to pray: And when the evening was come, He was there alone.”

Sometimes you need to get apart and alone, especially when you come off of a spiritual high.  You really need to be careful then, because it’s so easy to “coast” after that, and you can coast for a while  on a spiritual high.    Sometimes after Sunday night service, I could coast till Wednesday, but if I do that, I may open up a door to the enemy.  Jesus needed to get away immediately, because He had spent Himself and the anointing in ministry and miracles.  Anyone who has ever ministered under  a heavy anointing knows that while you are under the anointing, you feel like you could fly home.  But when it  lifts you feel like you can’t get out of the chair, you are so exhausted!  Jesus must have been exhausted, and He wanted time to recouperate .   He went up in the mountain, alone, apart in prayer, to get recharged.  When you spend and use up your spiritual battery and physical strength, you have to get them recharged.

YOU know how it is in those times when you are in a severe trial, when you are going through a wicked storm that is demonically controlled against you, O Lord when you would not give prophecy .”  Have you ever flicked through the Christian TV stations just  hoping  that someone would say, “This word is for Sharon.  She is sitting there with a red dress on.” (Come on, I know how it goes!)  Or you wished they would say, “I don’t know who, but the Lord is giving me this Scripture for someone,” and you just highlighted in your Bible that morning.  You may know what it’s like to plead with God: “O Lord, just give me a prophecy!  Just give me a Scripture!  And all He gives you is one word:  “TRUST: ” BELIEVE!  “OBEY! “STAND!  You wanted God to give you a great flowery prophecy filled with wonderful words, but He said “When you have done all that you know to do- Stand”   Let me tell you, when you are in the midst of a storm, and all you get from the Lord is one word: Trust!  Stand !  Believe!– One word from Jesus is all you need!  I said One word  from Jesus is all you need , so hang on to the one word and don’t let it go.

For on that one word, Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water.  He believed that word, and he stepped out on that word.  You can step out on one word, and you won’t sink.  It will hold you up.  He walked on the water and there’s nobody else in the entire Bible that ever did that but Peter.

I want to point out to you: the storm was still roaring, the winds were still blowing: in fact, the word in the KJV is boisterous, and the waves were crashing.  When he obeyed the voice of the Lord and acted on the word, the storm had not stopped.  Jesus hadn’t calmed it.  He did not say, “Let it all calm down.  Now come on, Peter, Come on our here and step on this beautiful glassy sea.”  No, he had  to get out of the boat with the spray of the waves smacking him in the face and the wind punching him in the back.  He had to step out as the waves and wind continued  to rage, because sometimes you have to make your move in the midst of the storm.  When Jesus says, “Come”, you can’t wait for everything to be peaceful and still.

Peter began walking on the water!  On the storm sea!  But when he saw the winds so boisterously, when  he felt the waves and the water slapping at him. he was afraid and began to doubt.  You know your senses can be your worst enemy, because 2 Cor: 5;7  SAYS, “WE WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT.”  Faith walks, Sight sinks.  By faith you can walk on the water.  By sight you will sink in the sea of doubt.

When he saw the waves and felt the turmoil of the water, he doubted, and he began to sink.  But even if you do that, just do what Peter did.  He cried out, “Lord Save me!, Lord Help me! Lord Deliver me!.  When you cry out in your desperation, Jesus is going to reach out with the everlasting arms that are an eternal refuge.  He is going to swoop you up.  He’s not going to let you sink-The devils is a liar!  Oh, you may find yourself floundering a little in the water.  You may feel like you go down and comp up, and go down and come, but I promise you, He will deliver you!

I think it’s interesting that the only one that got a “sermon”  and a finger of reprimand shook at him was the only one who got out of the board.  The rest of the guys didn’t even get out of the board.  But you see, Jesus was actually encouraging Peter, sort of saying, “Man, you were on your way, you were doing what I was doing.  You were stepping out with Me on the water, so  why did you doubt?

There were times in my faith-walk and spiritual journey when I would beat myself up terribly for doubting.  I didn’t need the Lord to scold me,! I’d beat  myself up because I doubted and allowed the enemy to put fear on me.  For instance, I would get a touch from the Lord in my back, and then a couple of days later, if I started having a problem, I then doubted that I ever hot a touch in the first place.  I can’t gett you how many times I went through that, and I hated it.  I would beat myself up and, “Now why did you do that?  You know the devil is going to come after you receive a healing touch to challenge you.  So you should be ready”  It’s so easy to say that, but when you are in the throes of it, when you are in the middle of that storm and being hit from all sides, that’s when you want to cry out: “What’s wrong with my faith?”

REMEMBER: YOU HAVE FAITH! (Rom.12:3 and there is nothing wrong with it!

Your faith is the gift of God (Eph.2:8-8) and God didn’t give you faulty, defective, weak, or anemic  faith.  He doesn’t have that kind of faith.  He gave you the good stuff  That is all He has.  Everything He gives is good an perfect (Js.1:17).  The thing that bothers, and troubles, and hinders us is when doubt comes in.  Jesus said in Mark ll:23: “If you believe and shall not doubt in your heart, you shall have whatever you say.”

Regardless   what you’re going through, no matter how the storms rage in your life, you know Jesus is with you and for you.  You may feel like He’s a distance away, but like when He was up on the mountain alone, He saw the disciples in trouble.  He knew what the enemy was up to and what he was trying to do to take them out, and He was not going to let the devil get his way.  He came to rescue them, and He will come to deliver you too.  He delivered me from many  troubled waters, and He is no respector of persons.

Several years ago, I remember one night when a voice spoke to me in the middle of the night.  I had been in a long, drawn-out difficult time of suffering along with the mental and spiritual warfare that it can bring.  I didn’t see anything, but I briefly recognized the voice as that of an angel” that I had seen and heard in a previous dream.  This time he spoke only one word:

P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E.”  It wasn’t exactly the word I wanted to hear right then, but I was grateful that the Lord had even given me that one word to encourage  me that He knew what I was going through.

When one word from Jesus is all you have, one word is all  you need.  Obey that word, and you too will see your breakthrough.
