Tuesday’s Likileake With Keith Bradford WHISNews21

We managed to keep it a secret FOR 2 MONTHS that Frans Maritz was the one that leaked the Likileakes (or Bradford files) Some are thinking now that the story is over and there won’t be any more Likileakes. This is not true and we were just assured by Keith himself that he will continue to entertain us with his stories for as long as you want to read them or hear them on the radio. If you have a local radio station that you think would be interested in broadcasting the daily Likileakes then send us the information and we will be sure to contact them.

This Likileake discusses the fact that One kind of music is still the same. . . . . . . . . .

big-band-stampOne kind of music is still the same: Every genre of music evolves and changes with what seems like every generation. Music that was recorded in the 70’s that was marketed as Rock for example is today’s Country Music. The Pop music of the 50’s does not sound like the pop recordings in 2013. Even Bluegrass music recorded in the 40’s does not sound like what some call NEW GRASS or today’s modern Bluegrass music. All genres of music have evolved or progressed into its current sound. All except one and that is BIG BAND MUSIC. Those sounds have remained the same for 75 years or more. When you attend a ball room dance and are serenaded by a big band playing old songs, new songs, or those in between, the sound remains the same. It is the sound of BIG BAND MUSIC and somehow it has maintained its sound for decades. No one goes around and says it is time for BIG BAND MUSIC to change. The fans of that kind of music are quite content for it to stay as it has for generations to come. I for one hopes it never changes and that my grand children’s grandchildren will be able to listen to the big band classics just like they were recorded.

If you are an Independent Artist and would want your songs featured on one of “Keith Bradford’s Likileakes Radio Shows” you are most welcome to contact him at This show is broadcast worldwide on various internet radio shows and you could be the featured artist on one of those special shows.

For Our German Readers The Likileakes In German By Patty Patrick

Patty Patrick Writes A Poem For Mindy McCready

pattypatrickpoem02We sincerely hope that you enjoy another world-class Poem written especially for you by our Internationally acclaimed Poet and friend Patty Patrick, for all our wonderful WHISNews21 visitors in memory of Mindy McCready

Farewell, Mindy McCready

Another soul has been broken.

The last word is spoken.

Mindy McCready has left the stage at a very early age.

Ten thousand angels couldn’t save her life on earth.

She decided living was nothing worth.

We do not understand what made her cut her life’s band with her own hand.

We did not realize the prize

she paid for her success.

That she was under so much stress.

And the fear following her musical career.

Why did she commit suicide?

Pushed all her family ties aside?

We think it is unkind to leave two children behind.

Were they unable to give her a reason to live?

Two little angels cry

and say with us: Farewell, Good-Bye.

We have no choice but to remember her voice in her songs.

She now belongs to ten thousand angels in the sky.

And we keep asking: Why?

Rest in peace, Mindy.

DAVE CLARK FIVE DOWN TO TWO By the time my radio journey begins in April 1965 on KASO-1240 in Minden, LA British Rock group Dave Clark Five already scores three Top 5 and four Top 10 hit records. DC5’s first tune to hit the charts is Glad All Over in spring 1964. In spring 1965 that’s how I feel on KASO-1240, Glad All Over. DC5 has me Reelin’ and Rockin’ northern LA forests. In 1964, Mike Smith leads DC5’s string of hits on the Ed Sullivan TV show. In 1965, DC5’s movie Having a Wild Weekend tells it like it is. Sadly, in September 2003 Mike’s fall paralyzes him from the waist down. In 2006, Denis Payton [saxophone, harmonica, guitar] dies. On March 6, 2008 Mike dies from pneumonia. DC5 is now DC2 because on Monday, February 11, 2013 bassist Rick Huxley passes at 72.

JOHN WALTON [Walton & Johnson Show] (Houston, TX) Subject: Jim Rose Remembers Radio (#1173) February 15, 2013 [Friday] Jim Sorry to hear about Russ Knight, I never met him…but in a way I did. For my 10th birthday I got one of those new mini transistor radios (the iPod of its day)…with the cool little ear plug so you could listen in “secrecy”…it was a school night, so no more TV and to bed at 9. I slipped the 9v snap on battery in and delighted in the fact that I was beating the rules while laying there with my little marvel of modern technology glowing in the darkness of my room in the little ranch house on Aves Avenue in South Houston. I could slip the small unit (for the time…about the size of a pack of Marlboros) under the pillow with my plug ear down…my mom would never know what I was doing. JEFF MACK [McClain-KULF, KILT FM, KENR, WNOE, WYYN, KNUZ] (Cleveland, TX) Subject: Russ Knight. Sorry to hear about Russ Knight passing. What a wonderful talent. He was the night time jock at KILT when I was a snot nose kid with my first job in radio at KVLB in Cleveland, Texas in 1964. He was kind enough to allow me to sit in and watch him work one night at KILT. I’ll never forget how impressed I was with him that night. That’s been a long time ago…Jim really enjoy JRR…Thanks for the memories…Jeff McClain Sent from my iPad

DR. JEFF CUNNINGHAM [ex KXOL-1360] (Austin-Kyle, TX) Subject: Jim Rose Remembers Radio (#1171) February 08, 2013 [Friday] It all started for me when I was working at a gas station in Sulphur Springs. I had a bad case of the radio bug and had been doing high school radio at KSST. I filled up the tank of a truck that had the license plate “ELKINS”. This was Mr. Bill Elkins and he was one of the nicest and most cordial guys you could ever meet. He was one of those people that never let me down and always took time to talk with me about my future. There are very few people in this world that took a gas pump-jockey that was 16 years old seriously. But Bill did and he kept up his interested even after there was nothing for him to gain from it. As you can see, he is one of those guys I can never forget. Hope you and Lacy have a wonderful February. After many years of pain and agony from the low back, I have successfully recovered from the injuries (post-surgical) and I have lost 100 pounds in the last 2 years. I am now at 165 pounds as of this morning and I would gladly assassinate a Third World dictator for just one Cheese Coney. 🙂 Jeff Cunningham, DC, MA; Kyle, TX ( / (

TRIVIA ANSWER: In 1959 to get past the strict radio censorship rules Elvis Presley rewrites the line One Night Of Sin is what I’m now paying for in Smiley Lewis’ 1956 R&B hit to One night with you is what I’m now praying for. RCA issues Elvis Presley’s single One Night as a double A-side record with I Got Stung. In 1959, Elvis Presley’s rewrite of the R&B tune One Night zooms to #1 in the UK and #4 in the US Pop chart and #10 R&B record. In January 2005, with its second release the song becomes the UK’s 1000th #1 single. In 1975, Glam Rock band Mud releases a cover of Elvis’ One night in their Mud Rock Volume 2 album and it climbs to #32 in the UK.

JOAN PATE-DAY [late Sam Pate’s sister] (Cedar Creek Lake, TX) Subject: Cowboy Weaver. More than likely the stories you heard were true. I do remember Officer Friendly and how he looked.WOW! Do you remember the News Lady Iola Johnson or was it Jackson? Once Cowboy got up to sing a “new song he wrote” and blared out “I Saw The Light”. We all cracked up on that one.

BARRY CORBIN [Uncle Bob in ‘Urban Cowboy’ 1980] Uh-oh, get out the Alka-Seltzer.
